Portland experienced more unrest early Wednesday after a fire was set inside the city’ Multnomah Building prior to the police department declaring another riot. Police took to Twitter to declare the riot “after individuals vandalized, repeatedly smashed first floor windows with rocks and threw burning material into an office.” The department retweeted a video posted by Hannah Ray Lambert, a reporter with KOIN News, who filmed a small fire with a crowd in the background chanting, “What did you see? Didn’t see shit!” Portland police confirmed the fire. Lambert reported that protesters later clashed with police.

⚠️ California declares emergency as wildfires rage
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - A large fire is burning at an industrial park in Grand Prairie, west of Dallas. Firefighters are concerned about the chemicals burning, a nearby lumber yard catching fire and power lines coming down. The fire at the Poly-America facility near the President George Bush Turnpike just north of Pioneer Parkway started burning around 1 a.m. Wednesday. Flames and smoke could be seen from miles away and explosions could be heard in the distance. According to it’s website, Poly-America makes plastic film and trash bags. The company also recycles plastic. The Grand Prairie Fire Department said the fire was caused by high-tension power lines falling into the plastic inventory. Firefighters are now working defensively, using a truck with spray foam to try to keep the blaze from spreading. They expect the fire will be burning for most of the day.

A FedEx cargo jet made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport before dawn Wednesday with sparks flying as the engine under its left wing appeared to drag along the runway. One of the two crew members aboard was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening leg injury reportedly sustained while exiting the aircraft, said Margaret Stewart, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman. The crew of FedEx Flight 1026, a Boeing 767, could not extend the left main landing gear before touching down around 4:50 a.m. after a flight from Newark Liberty International Airport, said Ian Gregor, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA will investigate.

Tucker Carlson Tonight: “Politicians used to try to convince you of things. The assumption was, you were in charge. You were the voter, which is to say, the boss. If they wanted the job, they had to win you over. It was a cumbersome process, so they’ve abandoned it. Now they just browbeat you into accepting their program. If you don’t like it, it’s your fault. You’re the bad guy. You’re immoral."

More than 20 people in California were arrested in connection with an elaborate scheme in which they used the personal information of 30 inmates to file more than $250,000 worth of bogus unemployment claims, officials said. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office announced Saturday the discovery of a “large-scale Pandemic Unemployment Assistance fraud ring” run out of San Mateo County’s Maguire Correctional Facility and responsible for 16 claims that were filed between June 9 and July 30, the department said in a press release. The investigation began after a law enforcement officer within the jail “overheard inmates conversing about these fraudulent claims,” the release states. So far, police have discovered more than $250,000 in illegitimate payments and have recovered $150,000 in cash, officials said.
