A New Jersey gas station ignited on Tuesday morning after a vehicle collision caused a car to crash into a pair of gas pumps, setting them ablaze, according to authorities. The crash occurred as tropical storm Isaias touched down in the state. Video released by police showed a car traveling along Route 1 in North Brunswick when it attempted to turn into the gas station. A red vehicle then sideswiped the turning car before flipping on its side and crashing into the gas pumps. "We are fortunate to say that there were no life threatening injuries reported," the North Brunswick Police Department wrote on Facebook. "Just a reminder to please use caution while driving, especially days like today."

Tropical Storm Isaias has now killed at least seven people after leaving more than three million people across the United States without power. The weather system spawned tornadoes and dumped rain Tuesday along the East Coast after making landfall as a hurricane in North Carolina, where it caused floods and fires that displaced dozens of people. Winds brought down a church steeple in Ocean City, New Jersey on Tuesday. Power outages also spread as trees fell, with more than 3.3 million customers losing electricity across multiple states as of 6.30pm EDT Tuesday, according to PowerOutage.US, which tracks utility reports. New Jersey had the most outages of any state, with more than 1.3 million. Two people died when Isaias spun off a tornado that struck a North Carolina mobile home park. Authorities said two others were killed by falling trees toppled by the storm in Maryland and New York City.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX took one small ‘hop’ closer towards the surface of Mars on Tuesday after completing the first successful launch and landing of its Starship rocket. Dubbed the SN5, the potentially revolutionary prototype performed an almost 500-foot leap above SpaceX’s development facility in Boco Chica, Texas, at 5pm local time.
