Anyone who still says George Floyd was killed by police is either a liar or a fool
A New Jersey gas station ignited on Tuesday morning after a vehicle collision caused a car to crash into a pair of gas pumps, setting them ablaze, according to authorities. The crash occurred as tropical storm Isaias touched down in the state. Video released by police showed a car traveling along Route 1 in North Brunswick when it attempted to turn into the gas station. A red vehicle then sideswiped the turning car before flipping on its side and crashing into the gas pumps. "We are fortunate to say that there were no life threatening injuries reported," the North Brunswick Police Department wrote on Facebook. "Just a reminder to please use caution while driving, especially days like today."
Tropical Storm Isaias has now killed at least seven people after leaving more than three million people across the United States without power. The weather system spawned tornadoes and dumped rain Tuesday along the East Coast after making landfall as a hurricane in North Carolina, where it caused floods and fires that displaced dozens of people. Winds brought down a church steeple in Ocean City, New Jersey on Tuesday. Power outages also spread as trees fell, with more than 3.3 million customers losing electricity across multiple states as of 6.30pm EDT Tuesday, according to PowerOutage.US, which tracks utility reports. New Jersey had the most outages of any state, with more than 1.3 million. Two people died when Isaias spun off a tornado that struck a North Carolina mobile home park. Authorities said two others were killed by falling trees toppled by the storm in Maryland and New York City.
Inside Beirut's ground zero: Astonishing images reveal the scale of devastation in Lebanese capital after mega-explosion ripped through city and left mangled wreckage in its wake. These astonishing images show the scale of the destruction in Beirut after an explosion tore through the port killing more than 100 people and leaving thousands injured in its wake. Rescuers worked throughout the night and into Wednesday morning scouring ground zero for survivors after the cataclysmic blast that has wrecked entire neighbourhoods in the Lebanese capital. The scale of the destruction was such that the capital resembled the scene of an earthquake, with thousands of people left homeless and thousands more cramming into overwhelmed hospitals for treatment. The streets on Wednesday morning were littered with glass with entire buildings destroyed or left without roofs or balconies as people walked the streets dazed and weeping as they surveyed the ruins around them.
