⚠️ Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for a community in Northern California as a wildfire has grown to several thousand acres, one of several fires burning across the state. The Lassen County Sheriff's Office said Sunday night the growth of the Hog Fire has spurred a mandatory evacuation order for the Lake Forest Estates, Phildow, and Grey Eagle Lane areas on the outskirts of Susanville, a community located about 110 miles east of Redding. Fire crews are working to establish a fire line around the Lake Forest Community, with County Road A1 closed from Gallatin Road to Highway 36. Nearby Highway 44 is also closed from A21 to Highway 36. Officials said an evacuation center has been established at Lassen Community College. CAL Fire said Monday morning that due to steep terrain and limited access, crews are having a "difficult time" gaining full containment of the Badger Fire. Evacuation orders remain in effect for the community of Hawkinsville.

Thousands of people attended a rave at a disused Royal Air Force station in the United Kingdom, with police struggling to shut it down, according to officials. Hundreds of people gathered Saturday night at the former RAF Charmy Down airfield, some three miles outside the English city of Bath. Upwards of 3,000 people were in attendance at the height of activity, the BBC reported, with hundreds still there early Sunday morning. Pictures and video showed partiers seemingly ignoring all coronavirus-safety regulations, including a lack of facial masks and social distancing. People as far away as Bristol, some 8 miles away from the airfield, said they could hear the “ridiculously loud bassline.” Avon and Somerset Police said even though despite officers arrived quickly, they were overwhelmed with “many people at the site.” Chief Superintendent Ian Wylie said the force was aware of a major gathering that might happen over the weekend, but had no ability to pinpoint the exact location.

A number of homes in Australia are now precariously teetering on the edge of a cliff following days of massive waves lashing into its coastline. The scene unfolding Friday in Wamberal, north of Sydney, comes as a band of low pressure that swept through the region – generating two days of waves up to 38 feet -- is expected to last into this weekend. Residents along Ocean View Drive in Wamberal, where most of the erosion has been happening, have been ordered to evacuate their homes. "I've never seen the waves come in, to this extent,” a local homeowner was quoted by Sky News as telling the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Rolf Garda, an official with the State Emergency Service, also told the station that it was the worst erosion damage he’s seen in three decades and “there's always been impact on that area, but for some reason, this event has taken away far more land than we expected.
