Florida gang members have supposedly been hosting massive parties at vacation rental homes with the hopes of spreading the coronavirus, according to officials. Osceola County Sherriff Russ Gibson reported that the sheriff’s office has received more than 600 noise complaints, many related to what Gibson referred to as “COVID-19 parties.” Gibson advised that over the coming weekend, his deputies plan to step up patrols in areas where the parties have been known to happen, FOX NEWS reported. “They’re being referred to, from what I’m being told, as COVID-19 parties where they’re actually getting together and they’re trying to mingle to potentially spread the virus amongst each other if they’re asymptomatic or whatever the case might be,” Gibson said.

Florida detectives said Saturday they were investigating the deaths of three close friends who drove to a lake at night to go catfishing and wound up beaten and shot. It happened Friday night around 10 p.m. on Lake Streety in Frostproof. “This is a horrific scene,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told reporters from the scene Saturday morning. “I’ve been to a lot of murder scenes and this ranked among the worst I’ve been to.” Judd identified the victims as Damion Tillman, 23; Keven Springfield, 30, and Brandon Rollins, 27, all of Frostproof, and said they had been "massacred." He said the fishing spot was "as far out in the woods as you can get.” The victims were attacked as they arrived at the scene within minutes of each other in two pickups, authorities said. Judd said detectives were summoned to the scene by the father of Rollins, who said he was asleep when his son called and cried for help.

A Brooklyn woman is dead after she was shot confronting a man setting off illegal fireworks in Brooklyn. Shatavia Walls, 33, who was peppered with gunfire July 7 after asking the man to stop setting off the explosives, died from her injuries Friday night at Brookdale Hospital, police sources said. Walls was shot eight times at 1259 Loring Ave. in the Pink Houses around 8:30 p.m. Her companion, Kelvin Hernandez, was also struck, the sources said. Setting off illegal fireworks is a “nonviolent act,” Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said last month, urging residents to “go talk to the young people or the people on your block who are using fireworks” instead of calling 911 or 311. Walls made the apparently fatal mistake of telling the man, who remains at large, to cease the pyrotechnics. The suspect left, only to return with a gun, shooting the doomed Walls and Hernandez as they tried to run away, police said.

Los Angeles Police Department's Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer Involved #Shooting (OIS) that occurred early Wednesday morning, in Southeast Division. On June 3, 2020, around 12:38 a.m., Southeast Division uniform officers were driving in-trail to Southeast Station when they encountered a shooting in progress on 86th Place east of Broadway Blvd. As the officers exited their vehicle they were met by additional gunfire and muzzle flashes which resulted in an Officer-Involved-Shooting. The officers detained a driver and passenger of a Mercedes Benz at the corner of 86th Place and Broadway.
