A 1-year-old boy and three men were shot at a cookout outside a Brooklyn park on Sunday night, law enforcement sources said. The four victims were wounded when a shooter, possibly in a passing vehicle, opened fire in their direction at about 11:35 p.m. near the Raymond Bush Playground on Madison Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard in Bedford-Stuyvesant, sources said. The baby was hit in the stomach and taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he is expected to survive. The three men, ages 27, 35, and 36, were also hospitalized and expected to survive, sources and police said. They were shot in the ankle, groin and leg, respectively. The quadruple shooting capped off another bloody weekend in the Big Apple where at least 23 people were shot since midday Saturday. Among the victims were two boys, ages 12 and 15, who were wounded in separate shootings in Brooklyn and Harlem earlier Sunday night.
The first federal execution in 17 years is set to go ahead on Monday after a U.S. appeals court overturned a lower court injunction, saying a lawsuit by the victims' family that had put the execution on hold had no legal standing. Daniel Lewis Lee was convicted in the killing of three members of an Arkansas family in 1996. But some relatives of his victims opposed him receiving the death sentence. He is due to be put to death by lethal injection at the U.S. Justice Department's execution chamber in Terre Haute, Indiana. His execution had been blocked on Friday by a federal judge after some of the victims' relatives sued, saying they feared that attending could expose them to COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

#WANTED! Atlanta police are searching for a second person of interest in the killing of Secoriea Turner, an 8-year-old girl who was fatally shot near the Wendyโ€™s restaurant where Rayshard Brooks had been killed last month after an encounter with police officers. New images released late Sunday show the second person of interest wearing a red shirt with a large rifle strapped to his body. Turner was shot and killed on July 4 while riding in a Jeep Cherokee with her mother and another adult. News of a second person of interest comes after Atlanta police released surveillance video last week of another person of interest. This person is seen wearing a white T-shirt and is also carrying a rifle near where Turner was shot. Police have already offered a $20,000 reward for information in the fatal shooting of Turner.

Reporter DESTROYED by Detroit Police Chief
Hundreds of police combed Germanyโ€™s Black Forest on Monday looking for a Rambo-style homeless man wearing combat gear and armed with a bow and arrow who disarmed four officers at gunpoint. Authorities warned residents in the southwestern town of Oppenau to avoid going outside while officers searched for the man, who also had a handgun and a knife when he fled into the forest. In an unusual step, authorities publicly identified the suspect by name as Yves Etienne Rausch, saying he was known to police for previous firearms offenses. They said he could be violent. Police stopped Rausch on Sunday after getting a report of a suspicious person with a bow and arrow. Officials said Rausch initially cooperated but then suddenly pulled a gun on the officers, threatening them and forcing them to hand over their service weapons. The man is believed to have been living in the forest for weeks, according to the regional police office in Offenburg.
WELLINGTON, New Zealand โ€” The Australian white supremacist who admitting killing 51 worshippers in a mass shooting at two New Zealand mosques has dismissed his lawyers and will represent himself when he is sentenced next month. Brenton Harrison Tarrant had pleaded guilty in March to 51 charges of murder, 40 of attempted murder and one charge of engaging in a terrorist act for the shootings targeting people praying at the two mosques in the city of Christchurch in 2019. His sentencing hearing, delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, is scheduled to begin in Christchurch on Aug. 24 and could last more than three days. The date was confirmed at a High Court session in Christchurch on Monday that was attended by some shooting survivors.
