Florida's Tampa Police Department will not "take a knee" for Black Lives Matter protesters who have not remained peaceful, Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan stated Thursday. In an interview on "Fox & Friends" with hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade, Dugan said he believes that the country is at a "crossroads," but that if protesters and residents are going to make enemies out of those sworn to serve and protect them, they better be prepared to "make friends with the criminals." Early on Saturday morning, two of Dugan's officers were injured while responding to a report of shots fired and a possible gunshot victim. However, when they arrived at the scene, a crowd of hundreds was there to greet them. As the officers searched for a possible victim, the massive group of people blocked their path and became aggressive.

The Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas is removing a statue from one of its night clubs after local religious leaders called it "highly inappropriate." On Tuesday, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish and Jain leaders urged the Foundation Room night club, on the 63rd floor, to remove Hindu and Jain deity statues from its premises. In a joint statement, the religious leaders said that “placing highly revered Hindu and Jain deities to adorn a casino night-club was very disrespectful, out-of-line, and could be disturbing to the adherents of these faiths.” The nightclub, whose tagline is “Good Karma Awaits," said it is removing the statue of Mahavira, which Jain leader Sulekh C. Jain said belongs "in a temple for veneration and not to be misused or mishandled by the patrons of a night club." #facepalm

VALDOSTA, GA – A 46-year-old Black man has sued the city police department claiming excessive force in a Feb. 8 incident where he was mistaken for a suspect in a panhandling investigation. His attorney is calling the incident a civil rights violation.

An Illinois State trooper was among two people injured in a crash near the Chatham neighborhood. It was the second time the trooper's car had been hit since Sunday.

According to Chicago police, officers were responding to a call in an alley, in the 11300 block of S Avenue L, when a man approached the squad car and "got into a shooting stance."

Greater New York Black Lives Matter president Hawk Newsome joined "The Story" to discuss the direction of the movement in the wake of George Floyd's death in police custody and the subsequent demonstrations across the country, many of which have sparked destruction and violence. "You ... have said that violence is sometimes necessary in these situations," host Martha MacCallum told Newsome. "What exactly is it that you hope to achieve through violence?" "Wow, it's interesting that you would pose that question like that," Newsome responded, "because this country is built upon violence. What was the American Revolution, what's our diplomacy across the globe? "We go in and we blow up countries and we replace their leaders with leaders who we like. So for any American to accuse us of being violent is extremely hypocritical."
