Three Las Vegas men were arraigned in federal court Wednesday as they stood accused of setting fire to a Metro police vehicle during a protest that occurred more than three weeks ago. U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada, Nicholas A. Trutanich, announced the charges against Tyree Walker, 23; Devarian Haynes, 23, and Ricardo Densmore, 24, which included two counts conspiracy to commit arson and two counts of arson apiece, according to a Department of Justice (DOJ). The defendants made their first appearance in court before Judge Cam Ferenbach, who scheduled a jury trial for Aug. 24 before U.S. District Judge Andrew Gordon.

A Wisconsin sheriff reportedly said the downtown Madison area was not safe Wednesday after a turbulent few days that included violent protesters vandalizing buildings, toppling statues and attacking a state senator. Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney said his agency stands ready to deploy additional resources to assist in handling any new protests. More than one hundred demonstrators gathered in Madison again on Wednesday night. The recent violence prompted Gov. Tony Evers to activate the National Guard.

The armed protesters that were observed by a Fox News news crew late Tuesday night near the Wendy’s parking lot where Rayshard Brooks was fatally shot have been “removed” from the location, according to a local report. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution pointed to a report from Channel 2 Action News that said the armed group was cleared from the area. Police said they “assisted in clearing University Avenue barriers that had been blocking the road,” according to the paper. The paper said it is unclear if another law enforcement agency took action. Harrigan asked the armed Atlanta men-- who insisted that they were peaceful-- what would happen if a police officer told them to drop their weapon. “It’s my legal right to bear arms," said one, referring to the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. "And at no point will I allow my right to be disturbed.”

Boston Police Commissioner William Gross says he's feeling uneasy after an incident involving a group of “hostile” protesters that allegedly interfered with a firearms arrest. The department said in a statement covered by CBS4 that officers on duty June 23 were “surrounded and assaulted” by the crowd around 5:40 p.m. while attempting to engage the suspect, who was wearing a fanny pack and had been reported to have a weapon. “I’m alarmed by the level of hostility my officers had to face while arresting a felon armed with an illegal firearm,” Gross said in a statement. “They were attacked by members of the very same community they were attempting to protect by affecting this arrest. ... Public safety is a shared responsibility. We need to continue to work together, not in opposition. "

A Florida man reportedly stole, crashed, and then abandoned a yacht worth almost $1 million in March, evading police for three months before being arrested last week. The nautical no-gooder, 28-year-old Donovan Russell Jester, stole the boat from a dock in St. Petersburg, Florida, then left it after crashing it into channel-marker pilings, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.The boat then drifted into a nearby oyster bed, where it was discovered by local deputies. They were able to identify Jester by a thumbprint left on the cabin door. He was charged with grand theft vessel for the joyride, and faces up to 30 years in prison. The stolen yacht was identified by authorities as a 46-foot Jeanneau Leader worth $900,000.

Florida's Tampa Police Department will not "take a knee" for Black Lives Matter protesters who have not remained peaceful, Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan stated Thursday. In an interview on "Fox & Friends" with hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade, Dugan said he believes that the country is at a "crossroads," but that if protesters and residents are going to make enemies out of those sworn to serve and protect them, they better be prepared to "make friends with the criminals." Early on Saturday morning, two of Dugan's officers were injured while responding to a report of shots fired and a possible gunshot victim. However, when they arrived at the scene, a crowd of hundreds was there to greet them. As the officers searched for a possible victim, the massive group of people blocked their path and became aggressive.
