Yesterday, deputies with our Deltona Narcotics Enforcement Team and Crime Suppression Team were working a proactive operation in the area of Normandy and Providence boulevards when a Chevrolet Impala and Dodge Charger pulled up in a Winn-Dixie parking lot. The occupants switched tags on their vehicles. The Impala pulled into the Wells Fargo bank nearby while the Charger waited at the KFC next door. The female driver of the Impala pulled into the drive through of the bank. It was later discovered she tried to cash a $1,400 check using the identity of a victim of a car break in Lake County. Police across US consider walking off the job amid anti-cop climate
Throwing chunks of asphalt weren't rioters only violent tactics at the #RVA protests this week & the reason for the Unlawful Assembly declarations. #VSP & Richmond Police Department have been hit by urine-filled balloons. We’ve intercepted ball bearings & Molotov cocktails. Rioters launched their own smoke grenades - see how the purple smoke is BEHIND the LEOs. The rioters intentionally blinded LEOs with laser pointers & strobe lights. And the white splotches on the pavement are from the glue thrown at #VSP shields to obscure the troopers' line of sight. BTW...Code of Virginia 18.2-57.01 - Pointing laser at law-enforcement officer unlawful If any person, knowing or having reason to know another person is a law-enforcement officer as defined in § 18.2-57...engaged in the performance of his public duties as such, intentionally projects at such other person a beam or a point of light from a laser, a laser gun sight, or any device that simulates a laser, shall be guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor.
A second of four former Minneapolis police officers linked to the death of George Floyd has been released from jail on bail. J. Alexander Kueng, 26, was freed about 7:30 p.m. CT Friday from the Hennepin County jail on $750,000, on conditions that included he appear at court hearings and avoid any further legal trouble. Kueng is also prohibited from working as a police officer or security guard. His release came more than a week after former officer Thomas Lane, 37, was released on bail. Kueng, Lane and Tou Thao face charges of aiding and abetting in connection with Floyd’s death in police custody on May 25, FOX 9 reported. Both Thao and the fourth former officer, Derek Chauvin, remained behind bars. Chauvin is charged with second-degree murder in the case after being seen on video holding one of his knees down on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes as Floyd was lying in a street during an arrest.
