Russian nuclear-capable bombers were intercepted and escorted by U.S. fighter jets during a flight over neutral waters near Alaska. The first Russian formation consisted of two Tu-95 bombers, accompanied by two Su-35 fighter jets and an A-50 airborne early warning and control aircraft, which came within 20 nautical miles of Alaskan shores, according to NORAD. The second Russian formation consisted of two Tu-95 bombers supported by an A-50 and came within 32 nautical miles of Alaskan shores. Both formations were met by North American Aerospace Defense Command F-22 Raptors, supported by KC-135 Stratotankers and an E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System. The Russian military aircraft remained in international airspace and at no time did they enter United States sovereign airspace.
A crowd of protesters smashed, cut up, doused in paint, burned and sprayed graffiti over a Confederate monument outside a courthouse in Portsmouth, Va., on Wednesday night -- and part of it tumbled down, reportedly seriously injuring one of the demonstrators. Confederate statues and other monuments linked to controversial figures have drawn the ire of demonstrators protesting the death of George Floyd, as the protesters consider them to be symbols of racism and white supremacy. “It’s a symbol that represents an ideology of white supremacy," Mark Whitaker, a former local lawmaker, told The Virginian-Pilot. “It really speaks to the consciousness of a city and of a people that would allow such an image of hate to continue to stand all these years.” Earlier in the day, two prominent members of the local NAACP chapter were arrested for trespassing near the monument. They were issued summonses and released after about 30 minutes.

⚠️ #WANTED! A California sheriff's deputy was shot in the head early Wednesday in what investigators described as an "ambush" attack on the police station. The shooter, who remained at large, opened fire around 3:45 a.m. on a police station in Paso Robles. The deputy was struck while responding to the shooting and his partner dragged him to safety and returned fire. The bullet remained lodged in the deputy's head and he's in serious condition. Investigators said another man was found shot to death near railroad tracks a few blocks from the police station and the homicide was related to the other shooting. An hours-long search of downtown Paso Robles ended without an arrest. The shooter, a man in his 20s or 30s, fired at the Paso Robles Police Department while officers were inside, and the gunfire occurred over a span of some minutes. The Paso Robles Police Department tweeted that the shooting stopped by 4 a.m. The department later released a photo of the shooting suspect.
Meanwhile, in Portland. Antifa rioters are grabbing whatever fencing they can find around downtown Portland to build their own autonomous zone. Rioters still erecting Fences as Portland Police Bureau warning of use of force on Rioters. Part of the fence is caved in. The fence caved in like this probably would have been enough, in previous nights, for PBB to declare unlawful assembly and use tear gas. Tonight, police are still standing out of sight, shooting pepper balls from a distance.
