A Republican state lawmaker in Maine is organizing a march to protest restrictions Democratic Gov. Janet Mills has ordered to slow the spread of coronavirus, according to reports. Rep. Chris Johansen is hosting a "Re-Open Maine" convoy that will circle the governor's mansion in Augusta on Monday to protest Mills' stay-at-home order, Newsweek reported. Another group plans on protesting at the state Capitol the same day. Johansen's Facebook event page for the protest says, "It is time we sent our governor this message: 'Maine needs to get back to work, we understand that this disease is contagious, and we are responsibly following the guidelines,'" Newsweek reported. Protests like the one being planned by Johansen, mostly organized by conservative groups and supporters of President Trump, have been staged this week at statehouses around the country, including in Wisconsin, Michigan and Virginia

Protestors at an anti-lockdown rally in Texas yelled 'fire Fauci' in a targeted chant against President Trump's top medical advisor, as thousands of Americans defied stay-at-home and social distancing orders at rallies. Meanwhile, anti-Trump activists launched counter-protests outside of the president's properties and laid body bags on the ground. Hundreds of protestors gathered at the capitol building in Austin on Saturday to fight the state's coronavirus stay-at-home orders. The Texas protest was organized by Owen Shroyer and attended by Alex Jones from Infowars. Cell phone footage from the protest showed people hoisting Trump 2020 flags and anti-lockdown signs into the air while calling for the dismissal of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country's top immunologist and infectious disease expert. Texas announced that it would be the first state to re-open amid the COVID-19 pandemic next week.

Officer Carolyn Anderson fractured her right wrist during the frightening fall after she and another officer tried to subdue the suspect shortly after 2 a.m. at the 125th Street station along the Lexington Avenue line, the New York Daily News reported. Anderson tried to secure the legs of Anquando Johnson, 25, while her partner, rookie cop Elijah Pardieu, pressed his arms and torso to the platform floor. Then the suspect kicked Anderson in the face. As Anderson β who was wearing a mask β tried to resume the battle, Johnson managed to roll onto his back. The move gave him some leverage when he forcefully kicked Johnson squarely on her hip. Anderson stumbled backward, lost her balance, and fell and somersaulted onto the grimy local subway track. As she fell, a northbound express train barreled into the station on the other side of the platform. #NYPD
