President Donald Trump has denied that Russia or any country interfered to help his election campaign, as he once again tore into Rep. Adam Schiff and accused him of leaking information about a classified security briefing. 'I want no help from any country and I haven't been given any help from any country,' said Trump, when asked about election interference at a press conference in India. 'Schiff leaked it in my opinion. He shouldn't be leaking things like that. That's a terrible thing to do,' Trump said.

The first case of coronavirus was confirmed in the Sicilian capital of Palermo on Tuesday after a woman from the now-quarantined northern region of Lombardy tested positive. The woman had travelled from north to south with her husband and friends before the lockdown was put in place, then developed symptoms and was taken to hospital. News of Palermo's first case sparked panic-buying in supermarkets as people rushed to buy food and medical supplies amid fears that they will also be placed inside a restricted 'red-zone'. Meanwhile Italy's deputy economic minister warned that the country may need help meeting its EU budget commitments after a stock-market plunge on Monday left its economy teetering on the brink of recession. More than 80,000 people have been infected with #coronavirus worldwide after cases began spreading from China's Wuhan region in December last year, and more than 2,500 people have now died from the disease.
The UK, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Finland all reported cases of #coroanvirus carried over from China, while the disease has been spreading between people in Italy. Austria and Croatia also confirmed cases on Tuesday in people who had recently travelled to Lombardy and Milan.
A map showing how the #coronavirus outbreak has spread from Iran across the Middle East to countries including Kuwait and Iraq. All the cases shown above have been traced back to Iran. The regime has refused to seal off the holy city of Qom at the centre of the crisis even as pilgrims spread the virus around the Middle East and Iranians face shortages of masks and testing kits. Even according to official figures, Iran has the worst virus outbreak in the Middle East with at least 95 people now infected - an increase of 34 since yesterday - and three new deaths bringing the toll to 15. However, there is strong suspicion that the true figures are much higher, with one lawmaker declaring yesterday that 50 people had died in the city of Qom. A series of Middle East governments have imposed travel bans after the virus spread across the region and Turkey today ordered a jet to be diverted on its way from Tehran to Ankara.

Colorado House lawmakers on Tuesday voted to repeal the state's death penalty after a lengthy 11-hour debate, clearing one of the last hurdles before the controversial bill becomes law, FOX NEWS reported. The vote from bleary-eyed lawmakers finally came around 4 a.m. after Republicans repeatedly tried to slow the process by making lengthy speeches or bringing unsuccessful amendments up for a vote. Republican Rep. Steve Humphrey spent nearly 40 minutes reading from the Bible. At one point, Republicans forced two hours of debate on whether voters, not lawmakers, should be able to decide whether capital punishment should be legalized in the state. No Republicans supported the repeal. Democrats have a 17-vote advantage in the House. The bill, which cleared the Senate last month, needs one final vote from the House, which could happen as early as Wednesday. Democratic Gov. Jared Polis has indicated he will sign it into law.

A Sumter County Sheriff’s deputy was killed in the line of duty Tuesday morning. “It is with profound sadness that our brother, Cpl. Andrew Gillette, died from wounds suffered in a shooting,” Sheriff Anthony Dennis said. The gunfight broke out at a home at 3120 on the Thomas Sumter Highway while deputies were attempting to serve an eviction notice. The sheriff said the suspect, without provocation, fired several shots at the deputies, striking Gillette in the chest. The fallen officer was wearing a vest at the time. Other deputies returned fire and killed the suspect–who remains unidentified until his next of kin are made aware of his death. Deputy Gillette leaves behind a wife and an 11-year-old son. “We ask for you to keep them in your prayers,” Dennis said. “Our deepest condolences and prayers are with his family,” Dennis said. “Gillette was one who loved what he did. He loved life.” #RIP
