#NYPD Commissioner says the shooting against two police officers in Bronx, New York earlier this evening, was an assassination attempt. The gunman asked for directions before opening fire on the officers. One officer was wounded with non-life threatening injuries.

Two police officers were shot this morning when a gunman opened fire at a Walmart in eastern Arkansas. The cops returned fire, fatally shooting the perpetrator, identified by Sheriff Bobby May as Bobby Joe Gibbs. The shooting was reported mid-morning in Forrest City, about 85 miles east of Little Rock, a dispatcher with the Forrest City Police Department confirmed.

A 17-year-old high school student from Florida was leaving school to go to a dental appointment when a sheriff's deputy blocked his way and threatened to shoot him for truancy.
