A couple in California have brought the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S. to eleven after the husband infected his wife following a trip to China - as three people in New York are now being tested for the deadly virus. The husband and wife, who are both 57 and live in San Benito County, were confirmed as having the virus late Sunday. The man had recently traveled to China and infected his wife upon returning home. Health officials said the husband and wife were not hospitalized and have not left their home. They are the second case of person-to-person spread in the U.S. Just hours earlier, it was confirmed a woman in the San Francisco Bay area had become the ninth person to be diagnosed with #coronavirus after coming from mainland China. The woman, who arrived on January 23 to visit family, had recently traveled to Wuhan - the epicenter of the virus, officials said. ☣️

A leaked recording of an Iranian pilot telling air-traffic controllers he saw 'the light of a missile' and 'an explosion' over Tehran reveals that officials knew straight away that a Ukrainian passenger jet had been shot down. The Iranian government denied for days that the regime's Revolutionary Guard had downed the Boeing 737 on January 8 killing all 176 people on board and at first blamed it on a technical fault.

An armed hold-up man wearing a “Scream” mask is being sought by the #FBI. The crook was wanted for pulling off five gas station robberies in and around Richmond, Va., — two last month, one in February 2019 and two in January 2019. “In all the robberies, the suspect wore all black clothing, black or blue gloves and a ‘Scream’ mask,” the FBI said. A $10,000 reward was being offered for information that helps the FBI crack the case, Fox 5 DC reported Tuesday. In the most recent robbery Jan. 26, the robber brandished a semi-automatic handgun and shoved aside one of his victims as he went behind the counter, the station reported. He then turned over the cash register and scooped up cash lying beneath it before fleeing on foot. #WANTED
A northern California sheriff’s deputy was "lucky" to survive a gunshot to the chest after his body camera helped to block the bullet an unknown suspect fired during an "ambush" attack near a reservoir Friday night, investigators said. Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Deputy Sukhdeep Gill was on a routine patrol along a rural mountain road in the foothills of unincorporated Morgan Hill, Calif., near the Uvas Reservoir, when he got out of his patrol vehicle, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. An unknown vehicle approached Gill and suddenly switched off its headlights. At least four gunshots were fired, with one bullet striking the deputy in the chest, FOX KTVU reported. The deputy returned fire, but it was not known whether the suspect was hit.
A child who was among the 195 Americans evacuated from Wuhan, the center of the #coronavirus outbreak in China, and are now quarantined at March Air Reserve in Riverside, California has been hospitalized with a fever, local officials said Tuesday. Another traveler who arrived at LAX is also now under federal quarantine. Officials say the child and their parent were transported to Riverside University Health System-Medical Center out of 'an abundance of caution.' The pediatric patient from the air base and their parent were under a 14-day federally mandated quarantine, the first ordered by US health officials in 50 years. If the child is confirmed to have coronavirus, they would be the twelfth in the US and the seventh diagnosed in California, but the first case among the quarantined passengers.
