Three people were killed and over a dozen taken to area hospitals after a semi-truck plowed into slowing traffic on an interstate in Indiana on Sunday after the rig's driver glanced down to set his coffee mug down, according to officials. The Boone County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 in Whitestown, located northwest of Indianapolis, FOX59 reported. Officials said the "major" crash involved the semi-truck and eight other vehicles. “A sad day for two Boone County families. The loss of two young women and a one-year-old child," Boone County Sheriff Mike Nielsen said in a statement. "Distracted driving or driver inattention is a major cause of many accidents on our public roadways. In this case, we believe it was a contributing factor in this fatal crash."

Man crashes his car, jumps 40 feet off interstate bridge, to escape traffic stop meant for someone else. He thought police were stopping him, so rather than getting out of the way, he sped up, crashed his car and jumped 40 feet down off the highway. Cops were initially trying to stop a speeding driver. Davaughn Clarke, 25, later turned himself in. 😂 #lol
BREAKING NEWS! The United States-led military coalition against Islamic State said on Monday that it was pulling out of Iraq and would be repositioning forces over the next few days and weeks, a letter seen by Reuters showed. “Sir, in deference to the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, and as requested by the Iraqi Parliament and the Prime Minister, CJTF-OIR will be repositioning forces over the course of the coming days and weeks to prepare for onward movement,” read a letter from United States Marine Corps Brigadier General William H. Seely III, the commanding general of Task Force Iraq. The authenticity of the letter, which was addressed to the Iraqi defense ministry’s Combined Joint Operations Baghdad, was confirmed to Reuters independently by an Iraqi military source. “We respect your sovereign decision to order our departure,” it said.
Meanwhile, the US Air Force sends six B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers to the Indian Ocean Diego Garcia base to support a possible military operation against Iran.

At approximately 3:38 a.m. December 22, the security cameras outside La Caravane Restaurant at 560 N.E. 44th Street in Florida Beach captured the dangerous scene as the men walk up to the glass door. One of them pulls a firearm out of his waistband and tries to open the door. Finding himself unable to open the door, he shoots at it instead. Meanwhile, the second man holds onto a machete. At the time of the shooting, there were between eight and 10 people inside the restaurant. No one was struck by the bullets. The security guard was transported to Broward Health North, and his injuries were not life threatening. The suspects may have been driving a white-colored Toyota pickup. Anyone with information can contact BSO Det. Mirelle Palushaj at 954-321-4547. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477). MORE BREAKING: Gen. Milley came back to brief us again after looking at the letter. "It was a mistake," he said. Milley said it was a draft, poorly worded, and had not been signed. It was being worked w/ Iraqis. Bottom Line: US troops ARE NOT leaving, he said. 🤣 #LMAO
Devastating bushfires burning across Australia have generated massive clouds of smoke that can be seen from outer space. Stunning footage from NASA shows how smoke billowing from the country's east coast has created a cloud bigger than the area of the continental United States. Image taken by the SuomiNPP satellite in space on New Year's Day showed the large palls before they merged into an enormous mass that has since travelled across the southern hemisphere. 🔥

A Florida woman escaped unharmed, but not without a citation, after she lost control of an SUV and crashed into a community swimming pool on Saturday, authorities said. Audrey Bullitt-Reeves, 56, freed herself from the partially submerged 2007 Mazda CX-9 by crawling through a rear window, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) told @police_frequency. The FHP released photos of the SUV sticking out of the pool. The vehicle’s front end was submerged up to the driver and front passenger doors.

Battle over gun control in Virginia heating up as legislature prepares to vote on new restrictions. Anti-gun fanatic Governor Northam wants the entire package of gun control bills fast-tracked for passage in the first week of this brief session. Gun bans, gun rationing, confiscation – it’s all on the table when the newly bought and paid for majority of the Virginia General Assembly fast tracks their anti-gun agenda in January. They will gladly cast your right of self-defense aside as they try to check off every gun control scheme on Michael Bloomberg’s wish-list.
Pennsylvania State Police are searching for the person or people who released bed bugs in a Walmart. According to WENY, a store manager found a closed pill bottle containing live bugs in the Washington Township store on Thursday. The pill bottle was found inside a boy’s jacket that was listed for sale. The next day an employee from an area lab identified the bugs as bed bugs. The employee also found bed bugs crawling in the men’s dressing room. On Friday, another closed pill bottle that housed several dead bugs was also found on the floor of the men’s department. The incident remains under investigation. The CDC says that bed bugs do not carry disease and are not considered dangerous. However, an allergic reaction to their bites could require medical attention. #WTF?
