French police have closed beaches in southwest France as packages of cocaine and other drugs continue to wash up daily along the Atlantic coast, with nearly 900 kilograms discovered since mid-October, ABC reports. Officials said the cocaine was extremely pure at some 83 per cent, warning people who find the packages not to touch them. A package of cocaine washed up on the beach. That has not stopped some from trying to get their hands on the drugs, with a street value in the millions of euros, prompting police to close beaches and start carrying out patrols. On Monday, a 17-year-old was caught with 5kg of cocaine at Lacanau, a closed-off surfing beach near the southwestern city of Bordeaux โ€” he had come from Toulouse, a three-hour drive away.โ„๏ธ

This is the heartwarming moment a bus driver pulled over to save a six-year-old boy and his sister, two, after she spotted them wearing no jackets and with bare legs in frigid 18 degrees Fahrenheit weather in Wisconsin. Nicole Chamberlain saw the two youngsters during her rounds at around 8am on Monday morning in Waukesha. Bitterly cold weather and wind chills made the temperature feel like just 3F there. Speaking to Good Morning America Nicole said: 'The little girl only had on a t-shirt and diaper and neither of them had a coat on. She added: 'They said, "We're looking for grandma". 'They didn't say why they left but they said they were going to find grandma.' The children's grandmother arrived in minutes. She told police - who are not pressing charges - that she had been in the basement of her home when the two wandered off to find her.

Passersby try to get the names of the arrestees to help them notify families or friends, as the police escort them to a coach.

Police, however, claim that this is not allowed while they also shout loudly to prevent any possible exchange between the arrestees and the passersby. Apart from one foreigner, all other arrestees are women.
