NEW: An Ottawa County Sheriff's Office deputy and his K-9 partner were injured after a patrol vehicle crashed while responding to a call early Friday morning.
According to the OCSO, the deputy was responding to a call for a person expressing homicidal ideations when the patrol car crashed.
It happened just after 4 a.m. in the area of Chicago Drive near Byron Road in Zeeland Township. Lights and sirens were activated.
The deputy was taken to a local hospital and treated with moderate injuries and is expected to recover. The K-9 was treated by a veterinarian and is expected to recover.

Tesla's Cybertruck has reached the end of the road.
Elon Musk announced on X Friday that the electric car maker would wind down production of its stainless-steel pickup truck at its Texas factory by mid-2027.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, said the move is to "make room for increased Cybercab production," referring to Tesla's self-driving taxi.

A driver has just seconds to escape as his semi-truck is stuck on railroad tracks in Georgia, with a fast-approaching train closing in.
Witness video shows the truck revving its engine and beginning to smoke as the driver struggles to move it. The train is also blasting its horn to alert the driver.
Eventually, he jumps out and runs to safety before the train slams into the trailer, sending cargo flying across the nearby roadway.
The dangerous collision unfolded in Decatur, Georgia, and authorities said they are investigating what caused the crash.

On October 29 in Syracuse, NY, these three police officers were first on scene at a raging duplex fire which had a family of seven trapped in an upstairs apartment. The officers ran into the building and up the stairs, through smoke and into a flame-filled kitchen. Audio of their radio call of "Mayday, mayday, mayday," is chilling, as is their transmission calling for more equipment and ambulances. The officers searched for children and dragged an unconscious woman to safety, saving her life. Two children were killed by the fire, but five children and adults were saved.
Two, Officers Brian Atkinson and Dyerin Gareau, were hospitalized for a time with smoke inhalation. Officer Evan Farewell was the most seriously injured, suffering inhalation burns and severe burns to his hands and face. He was released from the hospital today, welcomed by a phalanx of his fellow officers and a crowd of hospital workers.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Saturday, November 7, from 2 AM to 6 PM, affecting the Santa Clarita Valley, Santa Monica Mountains, Santa Susana Mountains, and Western San Gabriel Mountains.
Strong Santa Ana winds, with gusts up to 55 mph, combined with low humidity and hot temperatures, will create dangerous fire conditions. Any fire that starts could spread rapidly. Downed trees and power outages are also possible.
Residents are urged to avoid activities that could spark a fire, review evacuation plans, and stay alert to changing conditions. Elevated fire danger is also expected outside the warning areas.
