💙 Celebrating a lifetime of service! 👮‍♂️
As a young boy, Alfred Delacruz dreamed of becoming a police officer. In 1971, that dream became a reality when he joined the Honolulu Police Department.
But he had two more goals: working undercover and riding a solo motorcycle. He went on to accomplish both, serving in HPD’s Narcotics/Vice Division and as a solo bike officer before finishing his patrol career in District 5 in 1999.
But his service to HPD didn’t end there!
On the very same day he retired from active duty, he signed up to become a reserve officer, continuing his commitment to the department and the community for another 27 years.
Today, as Reserve Officer Delacruz officially retires from the reserve program, we celebrate his remarkable career and thank him for more than five decades of service, dedication, and commitment to the people of Oʻahu.
Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement, Officer Delacruz! Once HPD ʻohana, always HPD ʻohana! 💙

U.S. Border Patrol agents shot a man wanted in connection with a pursuit that began in Riverside County on Wednesday night.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Six people were killed in a three-alarm blaze that ripped through a Brooklyn NYC home early Thursday, injuring seven others - including three firefighters.

A heavy fire was reported throughout the residential, two-story building on the 600 block of 58th Street in Sunset Park at 1:39 a.m., the FDNY reported.
Four people inside the building were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were transported to local hospitals, where they succumbed to their injuries.
Four others sustained non-life-threatening injuries, including one with serious wounds while the others were described as minor injuries.
Three firefighters also sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries, the FDNY said.

BREAKING: Multiple injured in shooting at Des Moines post office; suspect detained, police say.

Gunfire broke out on Thursday morning inside the main United States Postal Service branch located at 1165 2nd Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa, leaving multiple victims wounded & prompting a massive emergency response from city police, county deputies, & federal postal inspectors.

First responders rushed into the central sorting & distribution complex around 9:30 AM local time, establishing rapid triage teams while armed tactical units conducted room-by-room sweeps across customer counters & employee work floors to locate trapped workers.

Des Moines Police Department officers quickly neutralized the immediate threat by taking one suspected gunman into custody on the property, preventing additional gunfire & securing the sprawling postal facility without an extended standoff.
