Water was seen gushing out from the side of a Philadelphia skyscraper over the weekend for an unknown reason. An onlooker took a video Sunday morning showing the water coming out of the top of One Liberty Place. A security official at the 61-story, 945-foot- tall skyscraper referred calls to the management office, which was closed. The fire department says this was a test of the fire protection systems. Messages were left for the property manager and another official seeking comment.💦

A New York police officer died in a tragic accident over the weekend when he inadvertently shot himself in the leg while driving to work. Officer of the Rochester Police Department, Manuel Ortiz, 52, was westbound on Empire Boulevard on Saturday evening when his personal Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol somehow discharged inside his vehicle. Ortiz called his fiancé immediately after, telling her he had just accidentally shot himself in the leg and was on his way to a local hospital for treatment. Motorists watched moments later as Ortiz's SUV swerved across the road, drifted over the center lane and crashed into a nearby ravine. A group of passersby climbed through heavy brush to get to Ortiz, who was unconscious and bleeding profusely when they were finally able to reach him. The bullet has severed his femoral artery.

A man who repeatedly espoused anti-Semitic views has been arrested in a plot to bomb a historic Colorado synagogue, federal officials said Monday. The co-conspirators turned out to be undercover agents. Court documents say Richard Holzer was arrested Friday in Pueblo just after the agents brought him what were supposedly two pipe bombs along with dynamite to blow up Temple Emanuel. In fact, the undercover agents had phony bombs incapable of causing damage, authorities said. The agents said Holzer described the inert explosives as "absolutely gorgeous" and said they should go ahead with the attack overnight to avoid police. He had allegedly earlier made threatening comments about Pueblo's Jewish community and said he wanted to plot "something that tells them they are not welcome in this town," according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court, CBS news reports.
