NEW: A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy broke an arm during a struggle with a driver during a traffic stop in Kerman.

The deputy conducted the traffic stop in the Fastrip parking lot at about 10:30 p.m.
Deputies said the driver was uncooperative and refused to follow orders.
The deputy and the man were both outside the vehicle when the deputy tried to detain him. The man then forced his way back into the vehicle.
During the struggle, the deputy broke an arm.
The man drove away and was not located nearby.

According to preliminary information, a 2026 Toyota Tundra was traveling southbound in the outside lane as it approached an active construction zone. Ahead in the outside lane, a Florida State Trooper in his marked FHP patrol car was stationary with emergency lights activated as part of a lane closure operation.

The driver of the Toyota Tundra failed to move over, despite the visible emergency lights and the active work zone warnings. The front of the truck collided with the rear of the Trooper’s vehicle.

The Trooper sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to HCA Osceola Regional Medical Hospital. He remains in stable condition. This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.

BREAKING: FoxNews' David Spunt reports via two sources familiar that there is an ongoing DOJ "aggressive criminal investigation" into Daniel J. Sullivan appearing on the ballot for US Senate in Alaska, and the investigation has intensified in the wake of the bombshell NYT report today.

DOJ sources tell David that multiple grand jury subpoenas will be issued in the coming hours and days, and there are preservation orders to cell phone companies that are being prepared regarding text messages and emails that may build a timeline for how Daniel J. Sullivan was placed on the ballot.

The investigation is being handled by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Alaska and federal prosecutors are interested in potential charges relating to the depravation of rights of Alaska voters. The investigation is expected to go beyond Election Day and has been underway for several months.

Police confirmed that the deaths are linked to law enforcement activity spotted Wednesday at the 2500 block of Nellie Street in Weslaco.

LASD deputies are already patrolling in radio cars that are old, rundown and badly in need of replacement. Now, keeping those vehicles running is becoming an even bigger concern.
Multiple sources over the last few days have confirmed that LASD did not renew its contract with Centera, the company servicing its fleet countywide, and that the current maintenance arrangement ends Friday.
That’s adding fuel to an already burning dumpster fire. An aging fleet needs consistent maintenance. Any interruption could mean more patrol cars sidelined, fewer vehicles available for deputies and consequences for emergency response.
Sheriff Luna needs to explain: Who will service and repair the fleet after Friday? Is a replacement provider ready to take over, or will there be a gap?
Deputy safety and public safety depend on reliable equipment. What’s the plan?

NEW: Essa Williams, who was convicted of trying to kill Phoenix police officer Tyler Moldovan, was sentenced Tuesday to two life sentences in prison. He will not be eligible for release for 25 years.

Williams shot Moldovan eight times, including in the head. Moldovan spent months in the hospital and went through extensive rehabilitation. Williams could not legally have a gun because of prior felony convictions.

"Violence committed against police officers will never be accepted." Phoenix Police Chief Matt Giordano  told reporters after the sentencing.

Giordano added the sentencing sends a message.

“I think the judge set a very high bar today with the sentence and sent a clear message to the criminal element that if they choose to shoot a police officer or exact violence against police officers, they will be held accountable,” Giordano said.
