On Sunday, October 18, 2026, at approximately 10:59 a.m., Deputy Lopez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Marina del Rey Station responded to a call for service regarding smoke coming from a van in the 14100 block of Panay Way in Marina del Rey.
Deputy Lopez responded to reports of smoke coming from a van on Panay Way, where firefighters pulled the unconscious animal from the scene. Recognizing the critical situation, Deputy Lopez quickly requested oxygen from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and administered first aid until the cat regained consciousness. The cat was subsequently taken to a nearby veterinary facility for treatment and has since been reunited with its owner.😽❤️
