NEW: The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said one of their patrol sergeants was injured when a sedan and their patrol vehicle crashed on US Highway 190 West on Saturday.

According to the sheriff’s office, patrol sergeant Rey Davalos was on patrol while heading east on US 190 West at around 9 a.m. near Triple J Lanes on Saturday when he saw a silver 2006 Saab sedan heading west on US 190 West. The sheriff’s office said the Saab crossed into Davalos’ lane and he had to swerve to the right to try and avoid a head-on crash.

Despite the Davalos’ swerving, the Saab hit the driver’s side of Davalos’ patrol Chevrolet Tahoe, according to a post from the sheriff’s office. 

Davalos is said to have immediately got out to check on the driver of the Saab. Davalos and the Saab driver both had minor injuries from the crash and they were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

NEW: Three individuals, including two teenagers were taken into custody Tuesday following a string of vehicle break-ins involving stolen firearms and a struggle that left an officer injured in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

On October 6, detectives from the department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Durfee Avenue in connection with the thefts and a robbery investigation.

During the operation, investigators located a 16-year-old male suspect in the 1000 block of Witzel Avenue. When officers attempted to make contact, the teenager tried to flee and pulled out a concealed handgun during the physical struggle.

An officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the struggle after striking his head on the ground. He were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

BREAKING: The Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed Republican Tom Tiffany for governor, putting a statewide police organization behind his campaign against Democrat David Crowley less than a month before the Nov. 3 election.

Tiffany announced the endorsement Tuesday in a Facebook post, thanking the Wisconsin FOP and noting that the group represents “more than 3,700 active and retired law enforcement officers across our state.”

“The contrast on public safety in this race is night and day,” Tiffany wrote.

DEVELOPING: Kentucky State Police are investigating following a late Sunday incident in which several inmates took control of the jail, several deputy jailers were injured, and an inmate escaped in Whitley County, according to KSP.

Three inmates — Randle, Cox and Fields — left their cell and went into the control room of the jail, according to KSP, then the three men attacked several deputy jailers in the control room, striking one in the head with a mop bucket and causing serious injury, stabbing another with a pencil, and deploying OC spray in another's face.

The injured deputy jailers were taken to Baptist Health Corbin and the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital for their injuries, where they were treated and released. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recovery🙏🏻

DEVELOPING: An investigation is underway following a deadly shooting on Head Rd SW on Tuesday evening, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Police are on scene investigating a shooting that occurred a short time ago in South West Atlanta, where the victim, per radio traffic, was shot and reportedly “decapitated”. The suspect who, after the shooting fled into the woods, is now also dead per police.

SHERIFF: AIKEN DEPUTY FACES LONG RECOVERY AFTER DEADLY SHOOTING

Aiken County Deputy Ethan Crosby was still in surgery Tuesday after authorities say he was shot and then run over during Monday’s deadly confrontation.

Sheriff Sawyer said Crosby, who has been with the Sheriff's Office for a little more than a year, was talking and doing OK before being taken into surgery Tuesday, but he was still in surgery when the sheriff spoke and faces a long road to recovery.

Sawyer also identified Staff Sgt. Kevin Canalejo, a 14-year veteran and shift supervisor (bottom left), as one of the deputies involved in the shooting along with Crosby.

The sheriff asked the community to continue praying for Crosby, his family and all of the deputies affected by the traumatic incident.🙏🏻

NEW: The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office on Tuesday announced charges in a child abuse case involving a couple who had 21 children removed from their home last year.

NEW: Hahn Nguyen, an Anaheim CA resident who was reportedly arrested days earlier in connection with an animal cruelty investigation, was seen applying dog feces to a wall in an apparent effort to discourage people from climbing over it and was being racist as seen in this video.

According to  the anonymous follower, people had been using the wall as a shortcut between a nearby parking area and the street, allowing them to reach their homes without walking around the block. The area reportedly had an opening in the past, but a wall now blocks the route.

The footage appears to show Nguyen applying the feces along the wall to make it less appealing for people attempting to climb over.

The circumstances surrounding the earlier animal-cruelty arrest and this incident are separate unless authorities establish otherwise.
