BREAKING UPDATE: Santa Ana Police Detectives have arrested Hanh Nguyen (75) of Anaheim on Charges of Animal Cruelty and Animal Abandonment for running over her 9 month old puppy in Santa Ana, California.

"This morning, Santa Ana Police detectives arrested 75-year-old Hahn Nguyen, who admitted to owning and abandoning her 9-month-old pit bull, “Blackey.” Detectives also located the vehicle parked inside her garage.
Nguyen was booked at the Santa Ana Jail for Penal Code 597(a)-Animal Cruelty and 597s(a)-Animal Abandonment.

NEW: A Woodbridge New Jersey police officer who suffered neck and back fractures after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night has been identified as Officer Alexander Rebelo.

Police said Rebelo positioned his marked patrol vehicle in the northbound lanes and got out to assist the individual, who continued walking in traffic despite the officer's commands.

Several vehicles stopped as the situation unfolded. Rebelo pursued the individual in an attempt to protect him when he was struck by a passing vehicle, according to police.

The driver immediately stopped, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Rebelo was taken by Woodbridge EMS to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with a fractured neck, fractured back and lacerations to his face and head. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

NEW: Former Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy Eddie Duran has been found not guilty of manslaughter for the shooting death of Air Force Airman Roger Fortson in May of 2024.

A jury on Thursday, Oct.1, returned the verdict in the case of the deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Fort Walton Beach. Deputies at the time said they were responding to a domestic disturbance in the same complex, but not at Fortson’s apartment.

Duran went to Fortson’s apartment and knocked several times before Fortson opened the door with the gun in his hand. Duran quickly fired five shots, killing the airman.

Duran argued that he was fearful for his life when he saw the gun in Fortson’s hand, though the gun was by his side and pointed at the floor.
