WATCH: A wanted felony suspect tries to flee deputies, but the chase comes to a sudden end when a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle deploys a Grappler to stop his vehicle.

Deputies say they spotted 28-year-old Darius Ford driving before using the device to safely end the pursuit and take him into custody.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Ford faces 16 felony charges, including possession of a controlled substance and 10 counts of providing false information as a registered sex offender.

BREAKING: The Tennessean is reporting attorneys for Christa Pike say she's still alive an hour after she was administered lethal injection drugs.

In the Tennessee Department of Correction’s lethal injection protocol, prison officials prepare one set of syringes for the lethal dose but have enough of the deadly drug on standby to build a second set of syringes if needed.

Each set is made up of four syringes, one sterile saline solution, two 50 ml of pentobarbital, and another of saline, according to the protocol.

“Set B is only prepared if the inmate is not deceased after administration of Set A, applicable waiting period, and examination by the Physician,” the protocol said.

Once the first set if given, there is a five-minute waiting period. Then the witness blinds are closed, the camera is disengaged and the doctor enters the death chamber to assess the inmate’s pulse.

“If the inmate is not deceased, a Backup Set B of syringes is prepared, the blinds are reopened,” the protocol said.

WATCH: TDOC officials, execution witnesses provide an update.

An emergency filing from Christa Pike’s attorneys says she has not lost consciousness and still has a heartbeat after executioners injected lethal injection chemicals.

Media witnesses said she was still Pike was “clearly very alive” when they were asked to leave the witness room.

Media witness Steven Hale with the Nashville Banner said, “A lot of this attempted execution happened when we could not see what was going on.”

Witnesses also say they saw an ambulance leaving the facility.

“We got out here, and then you all saw the ambulance that was going away with sirens, so we can presume there was somebody alive in that, but we don’t know, we’re not being told,” media witness Catherine Sweeney with WPLN said.
