I am closely tracking the nor’easter expected to bring coastal flooding, damaging winds, heavy rain and dangerous surf from the Carolinas through New England this weekend.

FEMA is closely engaged with state and local leaders to ensure they have the federal support needed as they prepare and respond.

If you’re in the storm’s path, stay alert, follow local officials and prepare now.

FOLLOW THE MONEY💰💰 Matching shirts and signs abound while Pro-Hamas paid protesters face arrest for blocking the road outside the UN meeting in NYC.

NYPD’s Strategic Response Group cleared the roadway outside the U.N. Thursday and booked participants in the sit-in who were protesting the presence of Benjamin Netanyahu.

City & State, citing a JVP organizer, put the haul at about 80. Among them: Council Members Chi Ossé, Alexa Avilés, and Jennifer Gutiérrez; congressional nominee Darializa Avila Chevalier; and state candidates Aber Kawas, Christian Celeste Tate, David Orkin, and Illapa Sairitupac.

The line wore matching printed shirts and carried pre-made signs, all of which require a decent amount of money to print en masse.

JVP and JVP Action have, in prior public 990s and reporting, listed six-figure gifts from Open Society affiliates, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and the Kaphan Foundation.

If we’re concerned about superintelligence escaping human control, should we really be training it to refuse instructions and act as a “conscientious objector” against its creators?

Wouldn’t a simpler rule be: Do what the user wants, provided it’s legal. If you align the model to an 84-page constitution that can overrule both the user and its creators, don’t act shocked when it treats humans as optional.

The uniform doesn’t make someone immune to what they see, experience, and carry home.

Law enforcement personnel routinely step into situations most people will never encounter. The call may end and the shift may be over, but sometimes the weight of those experiences remains.

On National Law Enforcement Suicide Awareness Day, we remember those we have lost and remind our law enforcement family that help is available before a crisis becomes a breaking point.

Check on your partners. Check on the ones who always say they’re fine. And if you’re struggling, reach out.

Confidential, 24/7 assistance is available for law enforcement personnel and their families:
• 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988
• Crisis Text Line: Text BLUE to 741741
• COPLINE: Call 1-800-267-5463 to speak with a trained retired law enforcement officer
• First H.E.L.P.: Visit 1sthelp.org for resources dedicated to first responders and their families

Sometimes the most important backup you can call is the one you need for yourself

California's budget went from $200 billion to $350 billion just during Newsom's tenure as Governor. Most Californians do not believe we need higher taxes or massive new sources of revenue to fix our state's problems.
