NEW: A patient from a hospital in Hialeah, Florida was taken into custody after, authorities said, he carjacked a woman and took off in her car, weaving in and out of traffic and hitting several vehicles, including a police cruiser, until the intense pursuit came to an end nearly six miles away.

The carjacking took place outside Palmetto General Hospital, located at 2001 W 68th St., Thursday morning.

According to Hialeah Police, the man, identified as 35-year-old Eugene Brown, was reportedly at the hospital to undergo a medical evaluation under a Baker Act order when he left the premises shortly after he arrived.

Praying for the Denver Police officer who was seriously injured in the line of duty this afternoon.🙏🏻

A law enforcement officer was seriously injured in a crash in Denver.

It happened at the intersection of 13th Avenue and Bannock Street, which is less then two blocks away from Denver Police Department headquarters.

Police said the officer was on a motorcycle with the lights and siren on when the officer was involved in a crash with another vehicle.

There's no word so far on the condition of the person in that vehicle or what caused the crash.

Richmond police officers hit the soccer field for a friendly match against kids at the Richmond Townhouses. ⚽😂

The kids in the community had been playing soccer with makeshift goals, so the Richmond Guardians of Justice purchased new goals for them. 🙌❤️

After setting them up, Richmond PD Patrol Team 1 joined in for a game — and according to the Guardians, the officers walked away with a 3–1 victory. 😂🏆

They joked that they’ll be back soon to defend their title and go for another win. 👀⚽

Yesterday evening, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Task Force Team conducted a compliance check of registered sex offender, Lloyd Edwards. Edwards was an active parolee and a registered sex offender in the County of Sacramento, after having been convicted for rapes in Chico in 2000, where he was sentenced to three life sentences, plus 51 years.

SAFE detectives arrived at his residence and detained him. He was found living with an adult female and her 5-year-old child. A search of his residence revealed  multiple substances in violation of Edwards’ parole conditions. SAFE detectives also located a GPS/SPY/Monitor Detector device in the back trunk of Edwards’ vehicle, likely used to evade law enforcement detection. Edwards was arrested and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail where he was booked into custody.
