A Palm Beach deputy fought for her life after a suspect attacked her outside a South Palm Beach fire station, knocking her to the ground and punching her repeatedly while trying to take her gun.
The assault happened at about 7:35 a.m. when a man, later identified as Rex Alexander Magann, used a call box outside a South Palm Beach fire station to talk to 911 dispatchers, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said during a news conference. Magann told the dispatcher that he had taken his mother's call and needed help.
A deputy drove over to talk to Magann, who said that he needed to take her cruiser. When she refused, Magann allegedly lunged at the deputy and tried to take her gun in a violent struggle.

PARENTING FAIL: 🏍️19-year-old motorcyclist hemmed up after being clocked at 111 mph in a construction zone with no plates and a bad license.
Two Jefferson County motor deputies were working westbound C-470 near South Wadsworth during morning rush hour when they clocked a motorcycle weaving at 111 mph in a marked 65 mph double-fine work zone.
They stopped the rider near Wadsworth and West Chatfield. When asked about plates, the rider said, "I don't... I haven't got my plates."
Deputies say his license was suspended, he had no motorcycle endorsement, and the bike had not been registered since 2018. He was booked into the Jefferson County Detention Facility.

That moment when you realize you suck at even being a criminal.... Tampa deputies closed a car break-in case before the suspects even cleared the apartment complex.
On Sept. 17, just before 3:30 p.m., Hillsborough County deputies answered a vehicle burglary call at Vista Palms Apartments. The victims told deputies the exact amount of cash that was taken and said a small black backpack was gone too.
Deputies found two juveniles matching the descriptions nearby. Bodycam video show a deputy asking the juveniles, "Whose money is all this?" A black backpack was also found behind a nearby fence.
Terrence Albury, 17, and Alberto Guerrero, 16, were arrested and are facing charges of burglary of unoccupied conveyance, first-degree petit theft, and loitering or prowling.
This case is a picture perfect example of swift police work in action.
