JUST IN: DHS releases first statement in Austin ICE shooting.

"Homeland Security Investigations, with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is leading the investigation into the officer involved shooting of an illegal alien from Venezuela, who illegally entered our country under the Biden administration and had a final order of removal, during a law enforcement operation today in Austin, TX.

The illegal alien’s condition is stable, and he is in federal custody pending removal.

This is a developing situation, and we will update the public when more information becomes available."

The latest on ICE shooting in Austin TX: An illegal alien from Venezuela is in federal custody after being shot by an ICE officer in Austin, sparking protests as questions remain over what led up to the incident.

Brooke Taylor reports DHS says 28-year-old Wilber Garces Perez entered the U.S. illegally during the Biden administration and had a final order of removal. His attorney says he was making a DoorDash delivery when he was shot in the torso.

About 100 protesters gathered at the scene, with local reports claiming rocks and water bottles were thrown at law enforcement.

DHS has not yet said what prompted the officer to open fire.

An illegal alien previously cut loose in New York is now charged with r*pe in Maryland.

Abdoulaye Dia, 36, of Guinea, is being held without bond in Montgomery County on first-degree r*pe, kidnapping, second-degree as$ault, and third-degree s*x offense. Police say a 17-year-old girl went to a hospital earlier in September after an Empower rideshare driver took her to a Silver Spring parking lot on Sept. 15.

Detectives used the app to identify him and arrested him in Lanham.

Homeland Security says he crossed illegally near Arizona in December 2023 and was released. In June he was picked up in New York City on s*xual abuse by forcible compulsion, forcible touching, injuring a child under 17, and s*xual abuse without consent.

The Brooklyn DA asked that he be held on bond. Instead, a judge put him on supervised release. These are the types of people progressives are fighting tooth and nail to keep from being apprehend by ICE and removed from the country.

Michelle Dewitt sat down with WBTV and said she hopes people will "throw out" the stigma on mental health. Her son, Decarlos Brown Jr., is charged with first-degree m*rder in the Aug. 22, 2025 k*lling of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte's Lynx Blue Line.

Investigators say he boarded without a ticket, sat behind her, and st*bbed her three times in the neck with no warning and no words. Transit video showed her collapsing on the train floor.

Brown's state and federal cases are stalled after judges found him incompetent to proceed. Defense lawyers say he has suffered "debilitating mental illness" and believes a "man-made material" controls his body. Dewitt has said he was a decent student until prison and later became "quiet" and "standoffish."

Gorillaz opened their U.S. "The Mountain" tour on Sept. 17 at the Kia Center. Mid-set, Albarn took a flag from a fan, held it up, and said, "Don't forget this. Ever. Stand your position. Don't ever be neutral."

Albarn has made similar remarks before, including a Channel 4 line last year that Palestinians' existence "cannot" be denied. He did not, on this tape, mention Hamas, the designated terr*orist group that started the current war by m@ssacring Israeli civilians on Oct. 7, 2023.

He also didn't mention Israel's right to exist.

Please, praying for the Ormond Beach police officer who was shot in the line of duty overnight.🙏🏻

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: An Ormond Beach police officer was shot at a hospital on Sunday following a separate incident at Daytona College, according to the police department. 

Police responded to the campus on South Nova Road after an aggravated battery call.  
According to investigators, the suspect assaulted an elderly couple.

In another incident, police say the suspect shot a police officer at a hospital in Daytona Beach.

Authorities have not released details about the officer's condition. It's also unclear what led to the incidents.
