An on-duty motorcycle officer was hospitalized after being hit by a car in Fresno Friday afternoon.
Police say it happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of North Temperance and Owen Mountain Parkway.

The extent of their injuries was not released, but fortunately, police say they are non-life-threatening and that the car involved was going slowly.

A Tyler Texas Police Department officer was seriously injured in the line of duty Friday when his patrol vehicle was struck by a speeding vehicle.

According to the Tyler Patrolman’s Association, Tyler Police Officer Josiah Baxter sustained multiple injuries including a broken hip, a broken arm in multiple places, a spinal fracture, broken ribs, and a broken clavicle during the crash, which occurred around 12:20 a.m. Friday morning during his regular patrol. He’s undergone his first surgery, with more still ahead, and is currently in stable condition.

Baxter is the sole provider for his wife and their three children, including a son with significant, ongoing medical needs that already require round-the-clock care, according to the association.

McClain County, Oklahoma. K9 Spike retired this past July after being diagnosed with an enlarged heart, fluid in his lungs, and a tumor in his nasal cavity. He died Monday evening, just weeks into a retirement his body never really let him enjoy.

The Sheriff's Office said it plainly: this is the only battle he ever lost. He died peacefully in his sleep.

Seven years of work, a mountain of drugs off the street, and criminals tracked down because he did his job every single time he was asked. Rest easy, Spike. You served well.🐾💙

NEW: A Texas Department of Public Safety officer was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in South Austin Friday night, according to the Austin Police Department.

APD Watch Command confirmed the officer was struck in the area of South Congress Avenue and Ben White Boulevard.

In a post on social media, LCSO said that the deputy is back home Thursday after a wreck in which he was injured on Wednesday night.

Last night, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Norwalk Sheriff Station. Past and present members came together to recognize the countless deputies, professional staff, volunteers, and community members who have been part of its story over the last hundred years.

From humble beginnings on First Street in 1926, when Norwalk Sheriff Station was more commonly known as “Substation No. 4,” the station has grown and evolved alongside the community it serves today, which now encompasses the City of Norwalk, City of La Mirada, South Unincorporated Whittier, and East Unincorporated Whittier.

For a century, the dedication and service of countless individuals have helped
shape the legacy of the Norwalk Sheriff Station into what it is today. We are grateful to all those who have contributed to its history and proud to honor the men and women who continue to carry on that tradition of service into the future.
