WATCH: Just before 7 am on Sept 12, Sarasota Police officers ran toward a motel fire on N. Tamiami Trl., going room to room to make sure everyone was safely out. Fire began in one unit & spread to the attic. One person was taken to Sarasota Memorial with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 46-year-old male was walking to his vehicle when an unknown male offender produced a firearm and fired multiple shots in his direction. The victim sustained six gunshot wounds to the lower body and was transported by Chicago Fire Department Ambulance 9 to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. The offender fled southbound on foot; no offender was in custody at the time of the dispatch, Emjay Phan reports.

The primary crime scene was reported at 8444 S. Euclid Ave. Police requested a crime-scene technician for a vehicle at the indoor scene. Dispatch indicated the victim had been standing outside the vehicle, and officers reported blood on it.

NEW: A 42-year-old woman was apprehended after police say she struck a Highway Patrol officer with a dark blue Audi SUV while he was directing traffic Friday on Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia.

Police say the officer was working a traffic detail at Ridge Avenue and Stanton Street when the woman drove toward the intersection. 

The preliminary investigation shows the driver disregarded the officer’s commands, hit him with the SUV, and then fled southbound on Ridge Avenue.

Kitsap County Sheriff's Deputies help rescue three people trapped inside a burning home.

NEW: 5 teens robbed  smoke shop in Broomfield, Colorado. 

They used a stolen red Kia soul and drove it thru front door.  4 people were waiting outside. Once they got inside they went straight for the vape products. They stoled about $5000 in products and caused around $10,000 in damages.

Other vape shops should be on lookout. Imo they will goto different cities doing this. 

The store is offering a $1000 reward and Broomfield police are also looking for them.

When Emi Vatavuk’s mother suddenly suffered a grand mal seizure while they were home alone, Emi didn’t panic.

She FaceTimed her grandparents nearly 700 miles away in Georgia, stayed with her mom and helped them get 911 on the way. Then she helped roll her mom onto her side.

And when paramedics arrived, there was one more problem: the apartment door was locked.

Emi couldn’t reach the deadbolt, so her grandmother told her to grab a chair.

This THREE-YEAR-OLD dragged it to the door, climbed up, unlocked it and then yelled outside to help first responders find them.

NEW: A Seattle Police Department Officer and a man were injured Friday morning when a domestic violence incident near Seattle’s Jose Rizal Park ended in shots exchanged between police and a woman who had barricaded herself inside an apartment.

When police arrived on the 900 block of Golf Drive South, they found a man with a laceration on his face. After the man was sent to the hospital, the department says officers attempted to enter the apartment of the woman involved in the altercation, but she had barricaded herself inside.

According to SPD, that same officer was injured by the suspect before she was taken into custody. SPD says the officer was not shot. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery. 🙏🏻
