On Sept. 16, under the direction of SOUTHCOM, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere (JTF-WHEM) forces successfully interdicted a floating refueling station supporting illicit at-sea drug trafficking operations in the Eastern Pacific.

Intelligence confirmed the vessel's involvement with the Los Choneros violent narco-terrorist organization. Individuals removed from the vessel have been transferred to Ecuadorian authorities. After clearing the vessel and disembarking the crew, U.S. forces sank it. JTF-WHEM continues to conduct precise and professional operations to dismantle the logistical networks fueling narco-trafficking in the Western Hemisphere.

It's always "Turn around, don't drown" with monsoon flooding, but one man decided to get creative with his mode of transportation, riding a jet ski through a neighborhood near Ellsworth and University in Mesa, Arizona.

It should go without saying, but please don't try this at home!

This morning, our Narcotics Unit served search warrants at three businesses inside the Anaheim Marketplace following a lengthy undercover investigation into the illegal sale of Xanax without a prescription.

Investigators determined the pills were being sold to anyone who would pay, including minors.

Approximately 50 bottles of Xanax, each containing 90 pills, were recovered, along with nearly $250,000 in cash. The owner of the three businesses, an Anaheim resident, was arrested along with five other individuals.

Six people were arrested on narcotics related charges.

Selling prescription pills is not a victimless transaction. It hurts our community and puts dangerous medications in the hands of young people. Our Narcotics Unit will continue to identify those involved in illegally selling these drugs and hold them accountable.

The investigation remains ongoing.

THIS KID IS A HERO. A seventh grader watched his school bus driver lose consciousness with dozens of children on board, raced to the front, grabbed the steering wheel and stopped the bus as it was veering toward oncoming traffic.
Dillon Reeves was only 13.

While the other students were understandably terrified, Dillon realized what was happening, jumped out of his seat, took control of the wheel and hit the brakes. Then he started telling everyone else to call 911.

There are grown adults who completely freeze in emergencies. This kid had a bus full of classmates depending on him and somehow had the presence of mind to do exactly what needed to be done.

Dillon's incredible rescue has made the rounds before, but THIS is exactly the kind of story that deserves another trip around the internet.

Make Dillon Reeves famous again.
