No hurricanes have formed in the North Atlantic Ocean so far this year.
This is the FIRST time on record in the satellite era (since 1966) that we have made it to September 12th without at least one Atlantic hurricane yet in the calendar year.
This is also the first time since at least 1941 that this has happened.

WOW. Gov. Kathy Hochul pardoned a violent criminal alien just DAYS before a major Supreme Court immigration filing was due, and the move effectively K*LLED the case before the justices could rule.
Keisy Guerrero Mariano had a 2015 second-degree assault conviction that later became the basis for immigration detention and removal proceedings.
His case had reached the Supreme Court over whether certain immigration detainees held for extended periods must receive bond hearings and what burden the government must meet.
Then Hochul issued Mariano a full pardon on August 28.
Because that conviction was central to the immigration consequences being challenged, the parties agreed the case had become moot and the Supreme Court dismissed it.
This has to be deliberate, right? Hochul's pardon erased the conviction driving a national Supreme Court immigration fight and ended the case before the Court could decide it.

An incredibly moving tribute to first responders yesterday at Memorial Stadium, leading the Huskers in the Tunnel Walk, and reenacting the Tunnel Walk from the first game after 9/11.
This Tunnel Walk featured two people who had participating in the original 25 years ago: NSP Captain Dain Hicks and Sheriff Terry Wagner.
Colonel Waugh and Captain Hicks were honored to walk alongside leaders from Lincoln_Police, LSOnebraska, UNLPD, lnkfirerescue, and the United States Military.
