Twenty-five years later, the sacrifice of 9/11’s first responders is still being felt.

Thousands of firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, workers, and residents were exposed to toxic air at Ground Zero. Many survived that day, only to face serious health consequences years later.

For the men and women who ran toward the danger, September 11 didn’t end when the towers fell. The impact followed them home.

We remember those who were lost that day. We also remember those who continued to fight long after.

9/11 is part of our history, but for many first responders and their families, it is still a reality.

Cops nationwide are getting in trouble for misusing Flock cameras. But now MPD is in trouble (with the union) for using Flock data to investigate one of its own officers.

And has hell frozen over? DC Police Union is asking for more Council oversight.

PLOT TWIST OF THE CENTURY. πŸ˜³βš–οΈ

A judge ended up behind bars inside his own courtroom after the defendant pulled the ultimate UNO reverse card. The defendant snitched on the judge’s own dirty laundry mid-trial just to cut a deal and walk free. You literally cannot make this stuff up. I’m Just Saying β€”

With the approach of the High Holy Days, the Jewish Community enters the most sacred season of Judaism, a time of both joy and solemnity.

At the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, we remain committed to safeguarding these important traditions and ensuring our community members feel secure as they gather in observance of the High Holy Days.

There is no place for hate directed toward any person, community, religion, or institution. We encourage our diverse communities to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agency.

Heightened patrols and enhanced visibility will be in effect at religious, educational, and cultural organizations throughout Los Angeles County to help ensure that the safety and security of all residents remain paramount.

May these Holy Days be filled with meaning, peace, and abundant blessings.

39-year-old Jason Ellis was murdered in Bardstown, Kentucky, on May 25, 2013, after finishing his shift with the Bardstown Police Department and beginning his drive home to Bloomfield. At approximately 2:30 a.m., Jason encountered tree branches blocking the exit ramp at Exit 34 of the Bluegrass Parkway. He activated his patrol vehicle's emergency lights, positioned the vehicle to block the ramp, and got out to clear the roadway. As he attempted to remove the branches, he was ambushed by someone firing a 12-gauge shotgun from an elevated area nearby.

Jason was struck multiple times, including in areas not protected by his ballistic vest, and died at the scene. His service weapon remained in its holster. A passing motorist discovered him shortly afterward and summoned assistance.

Investigators determined that the branches had been deliberately placed across the roadway and that the person responsible for the shooting had fired from a hill overlooking the exit. Authorities eventually concluded that Jason was likely the intended target and described the attack as methodical and planned. The branches were reportedly from a tree that was not indigenous to the area, further supporting the theory that they had been brought there to create the ambush.

Jason had joined the Bardstown Police Department in 2006 and quickly distinguished himself through his work. He received Governor's Awards for Impaired Driving Enforcement in 2007 and 2008 and was named Officer of the Year in 2008. The following year, he became the department's only canine officer, partnering with his German shepherd, Figo.

Before entering law enforcement, Jason pursued a career in baseball. He played catcher at Cumberland College, where he established numerous career records, and was later signed by the Cincinnati Reds organization. He played minor league baseball in Sarasota, Florida, and Billings, Montana, before leaving professional baseball in 2005 because he wanted to make a difference in his community.

Jason was also deeply involved with young people outside his police duties and coached youth baseball. He was remembered not only as a dedicated officer but as a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who had devoted his life to serving others. His death deeply affected Bardstown, and hundreds of community members and law enforcement officers attended his funeral procession. His canine partner, Figo, was present at his final service and later spent his retirement with Jason's family.

Jason was buried at Highview Cemetery in Chaplin, Kentucky. After Figo died in 2017, his remains were buried near Jason's grave.

The investigation into Jason's murder remains open. A substantial reward has been offered over the years for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of those responsible. Despite extensive investigative efforts and additional attention from retired Kentucky State Police investigators, no arrests have been made.

The FBI has offered a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Jason's murder.

If you have any information about this case, please contact the FBI at 1-800-225-5324, or the Kentucky State Police at (502) 782-1800 or submit a tip at tips.fbi. gov.

WATCH: President Donald J. Trump and VP JD Vance address the Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas, Texas.

VP: "By the end of 2024 you were tired β€” we were tired... the radicals in Washington could take much from us, but they couldn't take our will to fight back; and so all of us came together on November the 5th, and we sent the toughest S.O.B. in American politics back to the White House."

VP: "The Democrats are the party of hatred. They're the party that despises America and the people who built it."

"America belongs to those who love it β€” not those who hate it!"πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

POTUS: "Less than two years ago, the American people gave us a mandate to SAVE AMERICA β€” and in 19 months, I've delivered on every single promise I made."

Border secured. Public safety restored. Taxes cut. American energy unleashed.

POTUS: If Republicans win the midterms, we'll provide a TRUMP DIVIDEND β€” $5,000 for every adult citizen β€” which we can do because we're taking in trillions in new investment. We'll make the TRUMP TAX CUTS permanent.

Democrats will steal more of your money!

POTUS: "By the way, we control the Strait β€” the Trump Strait." 😏

POTUS: I started out with a very simple theme: Make America Great Again. That's all I want β€” and we are making America far greater than anybody in this room thought would be possible.

VP in Dallas: "We just had a protestor interrupting us and waving the Mexican flag. Well, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, get your ass over there β€” I'll buy you the plane ticket."

ANOTHER PREVENTABLE TRAGEDY: yet another ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT DRIVER is accused of vehicular homicide. Cameron Lyon was 23 and newly engaged when a driver accused of being drunk and unlicensed crossed into his lane and k*lled him.

His fiancΓ©e was in the car and survived with injuries.

They should have been looking forward to a wedding. Instead, she is grieving the man she planned to marry.

Ohio troopers say Alvaro Uribe-Gonzalez drove off U.S. 33, overcorrected and overturned into the westbound lanes, striking Cameron’s SUV. Cameron was taken to a hospital, where he passed from his injuries.

Fairfield County Sheriff Alex Lape says the driver was in the country ILLEGALLY. He faces charges including aggravated vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and driving without a valid license.

An innocent young man lost his entire future in a crash authorities say involved someone who had no business driving.

Enforcing immigration laws and keeping impaired, unlicensed drivers off the road are basic public-safety responsibilities, and families have every right to demand both.

Please pray for Cameron’s fiancΓ©e and the family who should have been celebrating with him.
