Believe it or not, but the Atlantic is only 2 days away from the typical peak of the season and we've only seen 5 named storms with no hurricanes. We will likely smash the record for the latest first hurricane on record which was Gustav on September 11th, 2022

UPDATE: Miami Sheriff ID’s victims in cargo plane crash.

The five people killed when an Amazon cargo jet ran off the runway at Miami International Airport were all inside a van used to shuttle crews that clean planes, authorities said.

The jet overran the runway while landing Sunday. It slammed into the van on airport property, careened through a fence and then smashed an SUV on a city street.

Five other people were injured. The pilot and co-pilot have been released from the hospital, Miami-Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said Tuesday. Two people remain in critical condition, while a third is in stable condition.

The Miami-Dade sheriff identified the deceased as Rolando Aleman Leon, 55; Yoel Rodriguez Narajo, 53; Julio C. Pineda, 75; Carlos Acosta Fajardo, 53; and J. Reyes Quevedo, 47.

The flight had been operated by 21 Air, a cargo carrier based in North Carolina. The 32-year-old Boeing 767 was originally built to carry passengers and flew for several airlines in foreign countries for more than two decades before being converted to a cargo plane in 2015, according to flight-tracking site Flightradar24.

Two of the four runways at the Miami airport remained closed Tuesday, and Homendy said they will not be reopened until NTSB investigators gather all the information they need from the crash scene.

More than 225 flights were canceled Sunday and Monday, and hundreds more were delayed, officials said.

A foster mom accused of TRADING A TEEN FOR A MONKEY just got PROBATION after pleading guilty to felony child endangerment.

Brenda Deutsch, 70, was accused of sending a teenage foster child to Texas in an arrangement investigators said involved an exotic monkey.

She ultimately pleaded guilty to first-degree child endangerment, and Judge Thomas Frawley sentenced her to seven years in prison before suspending the sentence and placing her on just THREE YEARS OF PROBATION.

Here's the kicker: Deutsch's foster-care license was STILL ACTIVE! The judge had to revoke the license from the bench.

He reportedly called her conduct reprehensible and apologized to the victims for how the system failed them.

How in the world did this woman keep her license all the way through sentencing?

20 DAYS IN JAIL for negligent homicide and vehicular manslaughter? A father and his 11-year-old son were killed in a six-vehicle crash, and the man convicted in the case, who now has an ICE detainer issued, will serve just 20 DAYS in jail.

Yvio Michel pleaded no contest to negligent homicide and vehicular manslaughter after authorities said his tractor-trailer failed to yield to backed-up traffic on I-75 in Allen County and triggered the crash.

Hurshel Gipson, 52, and his 11-year-old son Michael were killed. Hurshel's wife, Amanda, was seriously injured. Judge Tammie Hursh imposed just two mandatory 10-day jail terms and ordered them served consecutively.

Michel also received a two-year driver's license suspension, $1,000 in fines and additional suspended jail time. Allen County Jail officials say ICE has placed a detainer on him and immigration authorities will be contacted when his sentence ends.

A family lost a father and a child. This is absolutely unacceptable.
