NEW: A Mecklenburg NC County Sheriff deputy is injured after crashing his cruiser into a tree Wednesday morning.
The crash happened Main Street in Cornelius. It involved several other vehicles and a tree appears to have crashed down onto that sheriff’s cruiser.
Investigators say a deputy lost control of his vehicle while attempting to avoid a collision. The sheriff’s office tells WCCB the deputy is currently in stable condition. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

Praise God for law enforcement: 163 KIDS were recovered, INCLUDING A TWO-MONTH-OLD BABY. THIS is the law-enforcement story that should be EVERYWHERE.
Florida's Operation Statewide Shield brought state, local and federal agencies together with one mission: find missing children and get them safe.
They recovered 163 children ranging from just 2 months old to 17. Three men have been arrested so far.
Authorities say many had experienced abuse, neglect, exploitation or exposure to criminal activity. Three felony cases have already been generated from the operation, with additional investigations continuing.
That is 163 children who were missing and are missing no longer because investigators, officers, agents, child advocates and partner organizations kept looking.

NEW: A bridge dedication is taking place in Millinocket Thursday to honor Maine State Police Detective Ben Campbell.
Campbell was killed in 2019 when he stopped to help a stranded driver on I-95 and was struck by a wheel that detached from a passing logging truck. He was 31 years old.
Campbell lived in Millinocket with his wife and son.
The bridge sits at the intersection of Route 11 and North Twin Dam Road.

Their amended federal complaint seeks changes involving gender-related medical treatment and prison policy, with requested remedies that include psychological evaluation, electrolysis, body-contouring services and monetary compensation.
One plaintiff was convicted of r*ping two young girls. Another was convicted of multiple felonies including first-degree animal cruelty with s*xual motivation.
Andrew Kennedy was convicted of homicide by abuse after killing his cousin's 11-month-old daughter while she was in his care.
