WE DONโ€™T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS! A 5-month-old baby and her mother are dead after prosecutors say an unlicensed tour operator took 14 people onto a boat designed for a maximum of 10.

Federal prosecutors say Manuel Ernesto Hernandez-Umana was running a paid tour in New York Harbor without the required Coast Guard credential or inspection certificate. There were also no infant-sized life vests aboard, prosecutors allege.

The boat capsized August 8, throwing everyone into the water. A 27-year-old mother and her 5-month-old baby died. Hernandez-Umana has now been charged with two federal counts of misconduct and neglect of a ship officer resulting in death.

DHS says he is an illegal alien from El Salvador and is also facing deportation.

An overcrowded boat. No required license. No infant life vest. Two lives lost. There is much more to this investigation.

Undercover video from Alaska shows poll workers prepared to hand out ballots under OTHER VOTERSโ€™ NAMES without first checking identification.

One of the names used was Brian Murkowski, brother of Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

James Oโ€™Keefe recorded the encounters during Alaskaโ€™s August 18 primary.

And Alaskaโ€™s own rules are clear: if an election worker does not personally know a voter, identification should be requested. A voter who cannot provide acceptable ID is supposed to use the QUESTIONED ballot process.

Yet workers in the footage appeared ready to provide regular ballots without first following that procedure.

That should concern EVERY voter, regardless of party.

Election laws mean nothing if the safeguards written into them are ignored at the polling place.

Alaska officials need to explain how this happened and make sure it cannot happen again.

On August 6, 2026 Ptl. Thomas Elwood responded to a first aid call for a male with chest pains. Upon his arrival he made contact with the male and obtained basic information while awaiting the arrival of EMS.

While speaking with the male Ptl. Elwood observed the male was in obvious discomfort and tried to place him in a comfortable position. The male then suddenly went unconscious and stopped breathing.

Ptl. Elwood quickly recognized the need for immediate intervention. He placed the male on the ground, prepared his AED and began high quality CPR. While continuing to administer CPR he directed family members on scene to assist. He was the lone first responder on scene.

The male was given one shock from the AED machine and Ptl. Elwood continued CPR until the male regained consciousness and began to breathe on his own.

Ptl. Elwood then maintained close observation of the male while communicating with him and comforting him until the arrival of EMS and medics.

The male left the scene in an ambulance conscious and able to talk.

PBA Local 137 commends Ptl. Elwood for his actions in saving a life, job well done.

BOMBSHELL: Before Karmelo Anthony fatally stabbed 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, prosecutors say Anthony sent disturbing texts fantasizing about STABBING SOMEONE and licking blood from the blade.

In another message that morning, he allegedly said he was โ€œlow key on the verge.โ€

NONE of that went before the jury.

Less than two hours before the fatal stabbing, Anthonyโ€™s ex-girlfriend reportedly told a school administrator she was afraid of him and accused him of stalking her.

Are you KIDDING?

Prosecutors and Anthonyโ€™s original defense team had agreed to keep character evidence about BOTH teenagers out of the trial.

The jury still rejected Anthonyโ€™s self-defense claim, found him GUILTY of murder and sentenced him to just 35 years.

Now Anthony wants a NEW TRIAL.

And he has already scored a major legal victory: Judge John Roach Jr., who presided over his murder trial, has been REMOVED from further proceedings in the case after Anthonyโ€™s attorneys challenged his impartiality.

The defense pointed in part to Roachโ€™s post-trial interview, where he said the jury โ€œgot it right.โ€

A new judge, Michael Chitty, is now considering whether Anthony should get another trial, and the hearing continues Friday.

Was 35 years long enough in the first place? And if Anthony DOES get another trial, will key evidence like these messages be kept from the jury again?

VP JD Vance in Middletown: "Papaw was a welder in this place for 40 years โ€” and today, his grandson stands here as the Vice President of these United States. It's an amazing thing." ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

"The blood of these men and women โ€” these so-called 'deaths of despair,' I'm sure you've heard that phrase, but it's almost too abstract for me โ€” because the blood of those people, in my view, it pools at the feet of those who would sell out their country for a cheap bottom line."

VP: "We're here to announce that Cleveland-Cliffs is making โ€” today, right here in Middletown, Ohio โ€” a $1 BILLION investment in transformational manufacturing right here in our home."

"In just 18 months, we have seen an explosion of rebuilding in the American heartland. We have seen trillions โ€” with a T, trillions โ€” of new dollars of investment pour into the USA to build new smelters, build new manufacturing facilities, build new mills, build new everything."

VP: "Every step of the way, these Democrats have voted for foreign workers and fraudsters over American citizens and hardworking taxpayers... Who do these Democrats put first? Everyone else. You know who the Trump Administration puts first? Americans."

VP: "I'd love to go back in time and tell my Papaw that there's a man who claims to stand for working people who says not only should we have Sharia Law, but if you criticize it, you're a white supremacist." ๐Ÿคฃ

VP: "Whether it's child predators, Somali fraudsters, foreign gang members, or even visa fraudsters who are working to undercut American wages and steal from American taxpayers, the Democrats know who they stand for. It's anyone but you."

The Kingsport Police Department shares with great sadness that retired K-9 Kylo died on Friday, August 14, 2026. K-9 Kylo began his watch with the Kingsport Police Department in 2017 and retired in 2024. Kyloโ€™s first handler was officer Caleb Clawson, his second was officer Wesley Hite, and then his last handler was officer Robby Hughes. K-9 Kylo remained in the care of his last handler for the past two years before he suffered a medical episode last Friday.

K-9 Kylo was a dual-purpose narcotics K-9, which means he performed both patrol duties (such as suspect apprehension, building searches, and handler protection) and narcotics detection (identifying substances like cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine). K-9 Kylo assisted in numerous narcotics arrests and apprehensions. Kylo received a police escort to Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, where he was cremated.
