Today we celebrated the career of Officer Doug Arrick on his last day of work. Officer Arrick was a hard working, respected officer who dedicated his career to OPD's Uniform Patrol Bureau. He made an impact in the community in many ways, including earning multiple Police Lifesaving Medals for helping citizens during mental health crises. We wish you the best in retirement Officer Arrick!

In Honor of Los Angeles Police Officer Officer Jesus Ramirez

The Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums was honored to play at the funeral services at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City for Los Angeles Police Officer Jesus Ramirez, Serial No. 36563.

Officer Ramirez was assigned to Detective Support and Vice Division and proudly served the Los Angeles Police Department for 24 years. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters, and two sons.

A career in law enforcement is a commitment that extends far beyond the badge. It often means long hours, missed holidays, and precious time away from family, all in service to others and the community.

We extend our deepest condolences to Officer Ramirez’s family, friends, and LAPD colleagues. May they find comfort in knowing that his dedication and service will never be forgotten.
