It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Deputy Rodney Rickman.
Deputy Rickman suffered a medical emergency on Saturday and, despite efforts to save his life, he passed away this morning.
Deputy Rickman, 56, served with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for the past two years. His connection to the Office began long before he became a deputy. For eight years, Rickman was a valued member of Franklin County Fleet Management, where he worked alongside and built relationships with many members of the Sheriff’s Office. He often spoke about his desire to serve, protect, and be a part of the brotherhood he had known through his military service.

A Valley Mills Police officer was injured after responding to a domestic violence call. The suspect is in custody.
Chief Michael Hamilton issued a statement on Tuesday morning regarding an active law enforcement scene. The officer has since been transported to a nearby medical facility to receive medical treatment.
The suspect has been transported to a hospital for clearance and will then be transferred to the Bosque County Jail. Personnel from the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office and the Clifton Police Department remain on the scene to complete the investigation.
The officer has since been treated and back on duty after cleared by a doctor.

Today we celebrated the career of Officer Doug Arrick on his last day of work. Officer Arrick was a hard working, respected officer who dedicated his career to OPD's Uniform Patrol Bureau. He made an impact in the community in many ways, including earning multiple Police Lifesaving Medals for helping citizens during mental health crises. The Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums was honored to play at the funeral services at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City for Los Angeles Police Officer Jesus Ramirez, Serial No. 36563.
Officer Ramirez was assigned to Detective Support and Vice Division and proudly served the Los Angeles Police Department for 24 years. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters, and two sons.
A career in law enforcement is a commitment that extends far beyond the badge. It often means long hours, missed holidays, and precious time away from family, all in service to others and the community.
We extend our deepest condolences to Officer Ramirez’s family, friends, and LAPD colleagues. May they find comfort in knowing that his dedication and service will never be forgotten.
