Around 18 pounds of fentanyl with a street value of $1.25 million - and enough to cause every Orange County resident to have an overdose - has been seized by officials in California. The Orange County Sheriff's Department said it also seized five pounds of heroin, half a pound of methamphetamine, a loaded semi-automatic handgun in Southern California on October 16. Sheriff's spokeswoman Carrie Braun said that deputies arrested Rudolph Garcia, 60, during the operation that required a search warrant, The Orange County Register reported. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine for sale and of being a felon in possession of a firearm and was held on a $2 million bail. According to the California Department of Health, statewide fentanyl deaths increased 614 per cent from 104 in 2014 to 743 in 2018. A young woman who was playing Pokémon Go on her phone was shot dead after witnessing a robbery while playing the game. Cayla Campos, 21, was with her boyfriend, Sidney, on Friday night near Bianchetti Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Campos spotted two people in the area robbing someone who was sitting in their car. she turned around to drive away, a number of shots were fired into her own vehicle according to KRQE. She was hit by one of the bullets in the back of her neck and ended up crashing her car into an empty home. She later died from her injuries. 😱

US troops 'cannot stay in Iraq' after pulling out of Syria, says Baghdad government as Recep Tayyip Erdogan meets Vladimir Putin and prepares to restart invasion 'with greater determination'. American forces have permission from the Kurdish regional government to transit through Iraq but have no approval to stay there, a statement said today. The U.S. has angered the Kurds by pulling its forces out of Syria, opening the door for Turkey's offensive against Kurdish fighters there. The statement today contradicts claims by U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper, who said troops leaving Syria would go to western Iraq and continue to conduct operations against ISIS.
