COWARDS: Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration skipped Tuesday’s City Council hearing rather than face the outrage over its decision to publish a database containing names and addresses tied to more than 900,000 properties that may be facing the city’s new unjust second-home tax.

City Hall sent warning letters to approximately 17,000 property owners, leaving thousands of New Yorkers scrambling to prove their homes should not be taxed as second residences.

Council members from BOTH parties demanded answers.

Mamdani’s administration sent written testimony instead, claiming that appearing in person would be unwise because of pending litigation.

City Hall found time to publish hundreds of thousands of homeowners’ information, but couldn’t find ONE OFFICIAL willing to walk into the hearing and defend the rollout?

The pilot of a small airplane was killed and two Pennsylvania State Police troopers were injured after the plane collided in midair with a state police helicopter near the Carlisle airport in Pennsylvania's Cumberland Valley on Wednesday evening, officials said.

NEW: Several people, including a pedestrian, were injured this morning in the Inwood section of Manhattan, NYC.

Police said a Corvette was speeding eastbound on Sherman Avenue around 6:30 a.m. when it collided with a Mercedes-Benz near West 204th Street.

The Corvette then struck a 34-year-old pedestrian before coming to a stop near a building. The Mercedes continued into a parked, unoccupied moped.

The driver of the Mercedes fled the scene and remains wanted by police.

The Corvette driver, a passenger, and the pedestrian were all taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

Investigators are looking into whether the vehicles were drag racing before the crash. The Corvette driver has not been charged.

A dramatic second-story porch collapse left seven law enforcement officers injured during a joint Moberly Area SWAT Team and U.S. Marshals arrest warrant operation at a Huntsville apartment building.

Seven members of a regional Missouri SWAT unit were injured last month when a porch gave way as the officers were serving a warrant, and body camera footage of the collapse was released this week.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office shares with profound sadness that a PSO Deputy took their own life this morning in the Charles Bo Harrison Wy. area of Land O’ Lakes.

On Aug. 19, around 8 a.m., the Deputy was found deceased inside PSO’s construction facility with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Praying for the Albemarle County police officer who was seriously injured in the line of duty Wednesday afternoon.🙏🏽

An Albemarle County police officer was seriously hurt and airlifted to a local hospital following a Wednesday afternoon crash.

The crash occurred at around 3:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, on Browns Gap Turnpike near Slam Gate Road while the police officer was on scene responding to a call for service, according to the Albemarle County Police Department.

Authorities said the police officer was seriously injured and airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. They are currently in stable condition.

No further injuries were reported, per police.

DHS HITS BACK. DHS just called Michelle Wu “unhinged” after she moved to track down private property owners who might lease parking to ICE.

The Boston mayor sent a letter urging parking lot and garage owners to REJECT ICE, and the city filed a FOIA request seeking the identities of anyone who responded to ICE’s request for 249 parking spaces.

Wu called the potential leases an “unprovoked and unwarranted escalation” and told property owners: “Reject any proposition by ICE to facilitate an attack on the people of Boston.”

DHS fired back HARD. “She knows she has NO authority to block us from using private property,” the agency said, accusing Wu of “hunting down private property owners” rather than helping remove criminal illegal aliens.

This has gone way beyond political disagreement.

Should a mayor be using City Hall to identify and pressure private businesses because they may legally work with a federal law enforcement agency?
