APD Officer Shot - 1421 Clark Howard LN SW

"On August 17, 2026, at approximately 8:41 a.m., officers responded to an armed individual experiencing a mental health crisis at 1421 Clark Howard LN SW. Upon arrival, officers made contact with an armed male inside the residence. The male discharged a firearm, striking one of our officers in the arm. Officers immediately rendered aid to the injured officer, who was transported to Grady Hospital for further treatment. The officer is alert, conscious, and breathing. While on scene, officers also located an adult female inside the residence who sustained an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. The female is alert, conscious, and breathing. The suspect was disarmed and taken into custody without further incident. The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time."

NEW: A Cumberland police officer and his K-9 partner are recovering after being injured in a crash with a drunk driver Saturday morning in Indianapolis. 

According to a Facebook post from the Cumberland Metropolitan Police Department, in the early morning hours on Aug. 15, a Cumberland officer was on his way back to Cumberland from Indianapolis while driving on East Washington Street.

As the officer approached the College Avenue intersection, another driver — who was driving the wrong way on College Avenue — reportedly blew stop light and crashed into the officer on the driver's side. 

Both the officer and his K-9 partner, as well as the wrong-way driver, sustained minor injuries. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recovery🙏🏻

For more than a decade, young men at University of Detroit Jesuit High School have put on formal suits and white gloves to carry caskets and stand beside graves when no family or friends are present.

The school launched its St. Joseph of Arimathea Pallbearer Ministry in 2015. Seniors graduate and move on, but younger students continue stepping forward to carry on the mission.

Class after class has made the same commitment: No forgotten person should be buried without dignity, and no veteran should be laid to rest without someone there to honor that final sacrifice.

While too many activists are trying to turn classrooms into political battlegrounds, this school is teaching faith, duty, sacrifice and respect through ACTION.

Here is the part the open-borders machine does not want Americans discussing: Somalia has remained under TPS designations since 1991. Washington politicians and immigration activists somehow stretched a TEMPORARY emergency program across three and a half decades.

That is not temporary protection. It is dishonesty and greed disguised as compassion.

The lawsuit is still limping through court, but the blockade is GONE. DHS can proceed, review individual cases and pursue removal when affected nationals have no separate legal basis to remain.

Activist judges should not be allowed to rewrite immigration law every time President Trump attempts to enforce it.

Rest in Peace NYPD Police Officer and Manhasset Lakeville Firefighter Erasmo Troia.

Erasmo proudly served as a Police Officer with the New York City Police Department, while also serving his community as a firefighter with Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department Company 2.

Erasmo’s dedication to service extended far beyond the uniform. He was someone who truly loved helping others and never hesitated to step in when someone needed him. In his career to name a few he carried injured fellow officers to safety, ran 10 blocks to help a stabbing victim, and while off duty, stopped at the scene of a motorcycle accident where he applied a tourniquet that helped save a life.

These moments speak to the kind of person Erasmo was — selfless, courageous, and committed to protecting and serving others, whether he was on duty or not.

His dedication to his fellow officers and his community will not be forgotten.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood.🙏🏻
