UPDATE: Major Photo Incident Involves Two Officers Shot and an Officer-Injured Photo Incident

INCIDENT LOCATION: 300 block of N Fleming Street

On August 14, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers with the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team and detectives went to the 300 block of N Fleming Street to serve a search warrant related to a narcotics investigation. As SWAT officers exited their armored vehicles, they were almost immediately met with gunfire. Two IMPD officers sustained gunshot wounds. Several IMPD SWAT officers discharged their service weapons.

Officers rendered immediate medical aid to both injured officers, and they were transported to an area hospital by fellow officers. Both officers are in stable condition at this time.

The adult male suspect continued to fire shots for an extended period of time and barricaded himself inside the home. IMPD crisis negotiators began speaking to the suspect. The suspect eventually surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. It was determined he had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s), and he was transported by medics to an area hospital in stable condition.

Multiple firearms were located at the scene. An IMPD van and an armored vehicle were damaged by gunshots. Photos can be viewed on IMPD News.

The officers involved were equipped with body-worn cameras.

The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to collect potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office also responded to assist in the investigation.

BREAKING: Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport has scrapped a controversial plan to add an Islamic footwashing station. DFW made the decision late Friday after Gov. Greg Abbott demanded a review:

"Government-owned airports cannot favor one religion over all others.

DFW plans to install Islamic wudu washing facilities are illegal. I've directed a review of all state grants to both airports for possible revocation, and referred DFW & IAH to USDOT for investigation.

Texas will not allow illegal religious discrimination at taxpayer-funded facilities."

THIS IS THE LEFT: Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is dragging gun-control politics directly into the process used to equip police officers.

His new executive order gives city officials 90 days to develop additional standards for purchasing firearms, ammunition and related equipment for city departments. This includes the Chicago Police Department.

Bureaucrats can now scrutinize vendors based on their business practices, regulatory inspection histories and whether firearms they previously sold were later recovered during criminal investigations. A firearm could be lawfully sold, stolen or illegally transferred years later, and the original vendor could still face scrutiny because a
criminal eventually got his hands on it.

Police officers do not get a second chance when their equipment fails. Their firearms and ammunition should be selected by experienced professionals based on reliability, performance and officer safety. NOT an activist-approved political test from City Hall. Police officers are not political props.

JUST IN: An armed man accused of firing at a Southern California Edison crew was shot and killed by sheriff's deputies following an hours-long standoff. SoCal Edison says the crew was conducting scheduled tree pruning and vegetation clearing underneath powerlines nearby at the time of the shooting.

NEW: Three people were injured Friday morning after an armed man allegedly opened fire on multiple vehicles before exchanging gunfire with Houston police officers in northeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The shooting happened in the 6300 block of North Wayside Drive, across the street from Chicken Plus, where the area remains blocked off as police investigate.

HPD says officers fired at an armed suspect who was shooting at vehicles in the area. The suspect, who is believed to be in his 30s, was armed with a rifle and was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

NEW: An officer was injured following a crash during a funeral procession for a fallen officer along a Henderson freeway Friday morning.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident was reported just before 10:30 a.m. along northbound I-11 before Sunset Road and involved two patrol vehicles. Multiple vehicles were on scene to assist with the funeral procession of Officer Austin Abdelnabi.

Please, praying for the Muscatine Iowa police officer who was shot in the line of duty this evening.🙏🏻

DEVELOPING: A suspect is at large after an officer was shot in Muscatine. Residents on the south end of town are asked to shelter in place and lock their doors.

According to Muscatine Police Chief Anthony Kies, what started as a vehicle pursuit turned into a foot pursuit around 5:30 p.m. on the 1400 block of Grandview Avenue on Friday, Aug. 14. During the pursuit, gunfire was exchanged, and an officer was struck. Kies said the officer is in stable condition.

Police identified the suspect accused of shooting the officer as Mark Lee Jackson. He is still at large as of 8:30 p.m. on Friday night.
Community members around the south end of Muscatine are asked to lock their doors and shelter in place.

Shortly before 7 p.m., Muscatine Mayor Brad Bark posted on Facebook sharing his prayers for officers in the community.
