NEW: An ex con convicted of using an AR-15 to shoot and hit a LAPD helicopter w/ two officers in it last year has been sentenced to just under 13 years in prison instead of 41 years asked for by the prosecution after the judge said the defendant had acted friendly during the trial, had a substance abuse problem, and said she had the discretion to not impose the gun enhancements the jury had found true against him.

A pregnant convenience store clerk showed Logan Michael Parker compassion after his payment was declined, using her employee discount so he could have a drink for free.

Authorities say he returned minutes later, forced her into a restroom, attacked her and threatened her life. He stole her phone and fled, but Conroe police found him within hours.

A Texas jury convicted Parker of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated s*xual assault before handing him TWO concurrent life sentences. He will not be eligible for parole for at least 30 years. But is this enough of a sentence? Should he EVER be eligible for parole? The district attorney called it “calculated evil.”

BUSTED: A North Carolina police officer allegedly used the department’s Flock cameras 31 TIMES to track her boyfriend’s ex-wife.

Mooresville Police Chief Ron Campurciani said the alleged misuse was uncovered during a routine audit. Officer Elizabeth Snowman was charged with misdemeanor accessing computers, and officials say she wasn’t truthful when questioned about the searches.

The department has now added safeguards requiring officers to provide detailed case information whenever they access the system. Other policy violations were discovered during additional audits, but officials said they did not uncover any additional criminal conduct.

These cameras help officers find suspects and recover stolen vehicles. Turning them into a personal tracking system is a betrayal of the badge and the public’s trust.

After 31 years of dedicated service with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lieutenant Patrick L. Libertone last assignment was at Fraud and Cyber Crimes Bureau (FCCB). While on his way home from work, he conducted a traffic stop to address a reckless driver. Following a brief exchange, he began walking back toward his department vehicle when he suddenly collapsed on the sidewalk after suffering a heart attack.

An off-duty first responder who witnessed the incident immediately came to his aid, but despite every effort to revive him, Lieutenant Libertone could not be saved.
Lieutenant Libertone leaves behind his wife and four children, as well as a legacy of service, dedication, and commitment to the community he served for more than three decades.

His memory continues to live on within the Fraud and Cyber Crimes Bureau. A portrait and plaque bearing Lieutenant Libertone’s name has been placed on the wall of the FCCB office, serving as a lasting tribute to his service, sacrifice, and the lasting impact he made on those who worked alongside him.

Today, we remember Lieutenant Patrick Libertone, honor his life and service, and keep his family in our thoughts.

A federal judge in Texas just struck down key registration requirements under the National Firearms Act after Congress eliminated the tax used to justify them.

This is a major victory for law-abiding gun owners, but the fight is not over. I will continue fighting to eliminate unconstitutional restrictions on our Second Amendment rights.

THE WAR ON FLOCK CAMERAS MISSES THE POINT.

Across the country, automated license plate readers are being cut down, painted over, struck with vehicles and stolen—even as law enforcement agencies use the technology to identify suspect vehicles, recover stolen cars and locate wanted people.

Critics call the cameras an invasion of privacy, but understaffed police departments cannot have an officer on every street. These cameras help fill that gap by alerting law enforcement when vehicles connected to crimes or wanted suspects pass by.

The technology requires strict safeguards, regular audits and serious consequences for anyone who abuses access. But destroying equipment used to solve crimes and locate missing children does nothing to protect the public.

Cameras can be replaced. Officers cannot.

Leading Medical, Crime, and Economic Studies have shown that ceasing the biannual time change, giving us one extra hour of natural sunlight in the evenings, will help Decrease Robbery and Murder Rates, Reduce Car Accidents (especially those involving Pedestrians!), Lower Risk for Cardiac Issues, Stroke, and Seasonal Depression, Make It Safer for Children to Walk Home from School, Increase Time with your Family, Strongly Support Extracurricular Activities, Be a Big Boost to Sports, Fitness, Tourism, Retail, and the Restaurant Industries (and more!), and Save Money on Energy Bills, because everyone will be enjoying an EXTRA HOUR OF DAYLIGHT. In other words, leave it as it is now, and never change again. This is an issue that Republicans, Dumocrats, and Independents can unite behind. President Trump is looking to BLOCK Mamdani's latest socialist experiment.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is rolling out an annual tax targeting expensive second homes owned by people whose primary residence is outside the city.

The tax applies to qualifying houses valued above $5 million and certain condominiums and cooperative units beginning at $1 million.

Mamdani claims it will extract approximately $500 million a year from wealthy property owners to fund his agenda.

President Trump says it could drive away the same successful people already contributing enormous amounts to New York’s tax base.
He is now examining whether the federal government has the legal authority to intervene.

The rollout is already turning into a DISASTER.

A Staten Island judge issued a temporary restraining order after homeowners claimed the city wrongly identified residents who could be subject to the tax.
Mamdani’s administration immediately appealed.

This is how socialism works every single time.
Punish successful people until they leave. Lose the revenue they were already providing. Then raise taxes on everyone who could not escape.

Bruce Blakeman says New York’s sanctuary-state status will END on day one if he defeats Gov. Kathy Hochul. Hochul recently signed legislation ending 287(g) agreements and restricting cooperation between local law enforcement and federal
immigration authorities. Blakeman is promising to take New York in the exact opposite direction.

He also blasted Hochul for spending billions in taxpayer money on benefits for illegal immigrants while New Yorkers struggle with crushing taxes, soaring utility bills and growing public-safety concerns.

New York has spent years putting illegal immigrants ahead of law enforcement AND American citizens and the taxpayers footing the bill. Blakeman says he is ready to shut it down. November cannot come soon enough.

Police say an Edina officer will need surgery after being struck by a woman who was arrested at the Edina Aquatic Center who was previously convicted in juvenile court of manslaughter.

Tiana Hughes, 21, of Minneapolis, is facing multiple assault charges in addition to violating the terms of her release in previous incidents, as well as violating a domestic abuse no-contact order. 

Court documents say she also bit another officer on the arm during a struggle at Hennepin County Medical Center.
