HERO ALERT: A father of four bravely sacrificed his own life to save a little girl from drowning in Myrtle Beach.

Derrick Moore, 47, saw the child struggling in a rip current after lifeguards had gone off duty.
He didn’t hesitate.

Police say Moore rushed into the ocean and successfully pulled the girl out of the current.
Then he was swept underwater.

Police and firefighters searched through the night. His body washed ashore Saturday afternoon.

The girl lived because Derrick Moore was willing to risk everything for a child he didn’t even know.

The Jacksonville Police Department, NC, sadly announced the passing of retired JPD Lieutenant, James, "XY" Brown.

Lt. Brown dedicated his life to serving our community since 1957 when he began volunteering with the police department. For nearly four decades, he helped generations of students safely cross the streets of Jacksonville, a familiar and beloved face to all. He loved children, and the children loved him.

An honorable Veteran, a faithful police officer, and a friend to so many, he leaves an everlasting legacy.

POTUS: For far too long, America has recommended more childhood vaccines than any peer nation, and even twice as many doses as some European countries. In many cases, we were requiring 72 jabs for our beautiful, healthy, lovely, delicate little children. Effective immediately, my administration's recognizing Gold Standard childhood vaccine recommendations for only 11 core vaccinations against the most serious and dangerous diseases, along with the MMR. We want it in three separate vaccinations, given at separate times.

SecKennedy: "We will preserve access to vaccines, strengthen safety monitoring, expand research, give doctors and parents better information, and restore informed consent and parental choice to their rightful place in American medicine."

NEW: Authorities are responding to reports of a shooting near a Southwest Side school in Chicago.

A Chicago Fire Department official confirmed that there are reports of shots fired in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood's 5100-block of South Lotus Avenue.

Several officers and a stretcher could be seen.
Officials did not immediately say whether anyone is injured.

South Dakota Highway Patrol

BOOM! A Christian teacher who was forced out for refusing to use pronouns that violated his beliefs just secured a $650,000 settlement.

Indiana music teacher John Kluge had been allowed to address every student by last name instead of using names and pronouns that conflicted with his religious convictions.

Then the district revoked that accommodation.

Kluge resigned after being told to comply or face termination.

Now the district has agreed to pay $650,000 and provide religious discrimination training to senior administrators.

The district did not admit to wrongdoing, but this settlement sends a powerful message: religious freedom does not end at the classroom door.

It is with profound sadness that the Lancaster Police Department, Ohio, announces the passing of Officer Raymond “Ray Ray” Hambel #474.

Officer Hambel passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2026, at the age of 51.

Ray began his career with the Lancaster Police Department on September 17, 2001, and dedicated more than 25 years to serving the Lancaster community. As one of the senior members of our department, Ray was a familiar face, a trusted coworker, and a beloved member of the Lancaster Police Department family.
