AZDPS is proud to announce the promotion of Jennifer Borquez to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and her appointment as Assistant Director of the Agency Support Division. She is the third woman in Department history to attain this rank.

Since joining AZDPS as a Cadet State Trooper in 2002, Lt. Col. Borquez has served in leadership positions throughout the Highway Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Technical Services, and Agency Support divisions. She also served as Director of the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center.

As Assistant Director, Lt. Col. Borquez will lead the critical administrative and operational support functions that help AZDPS personnel serve communities throughout Arizona.

JUST HERE FOR A BETTER LIFE, RIGHT? A Pakistani national delivery driver has been accused of assaulting a disabled woman inside of her home.

Qaisar Ali, 39, was arrested after East Bridgewater police say he entered the home of a woman with severe mobility limitations while delivering her medication.

The woman uses a wheelchair and reportedly never gave Ali permission to enter.

Ali now faces assault with intent to commit r*pe, multiple counts involving an elderly or disabled person, indecent exposure and daytime breaking and entering.
He was held on $10,000 bail.

DHS reportedly confirmed that Ali is a Pakistani national who entered the country illegally and was released by the Biden administration in 2022.

A woman should be able to receive essential medication without fearing the person sent to deliver it.

How was someone allegedly in the country illegally placed in a position giving him access to a vulnerable woman’s home?

In Amarillo, Texas, a fuel truck collided with a pickup at an intersection, sending both vehicles into the KVII studios building. Police say the pickup occupants fled the scene, but officers later identified the driver and contacted his parents. Investigators believe the pickup driver ran a red light, causing the crash.

The AP fundamentally mischaracterized ICE’s body-worn camera policy by conflating the expedited release of footage following a serious bodily injury or death in custody with ICE’s broader authority to release body-worn camera footage. Those are distinct issues, and here is the truth: ICE policy permits expedited release when appropriate — and clarifies that it’s not appropriate to release footage when doing so could compromise investigations or privacy. This approach mirrors other federal law enforcement agencies’ policies and is fully consistent with the Freedom of Information Act and the Privacy Act. At the same time, we’re committed to transparency and accountability, and we’re on track to equip every officer and agent in the field with body-worn cameras by the end of August, ahead of our original timeline.”

ICE says the operation focused on illegal aliens accused or convicted of crimes in the United States.

The criminal histories included assault, domestic violence, cruelty to children, sexual offenses and other threats to public safety.

These were not people being targeted because of where they came from. These were immigration offenders ICE says had already been accused or convicted of breaking additional American laws.
