A Los Angeles homeless nonprofit CEO earned more than $1.6 million in salary, bonuses and vacation payouts — despite living thousands of miles away in Hawaii.

Carol Adelkoff, from 1736 Family Crisis Center, was the highest paid homeless executive in Los Angeles after earning the whopping figure over the last two years.

She collected $907,923 in 2023 and another $742,181 in 2024, compensation that dwarfed the pay of leaders running much larger homeless service organizations across LA County.

Organs are being harvested from LIVING patients?

RFK Jr. moves to SHUT DOWN organ procurement organization after investigators found serious patient safety failures involving people showing signs of LIFE.

HHS has begun decertifying Network for Hope, the organ procurement organization serving Kentucky and parts of Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia.

Federal investigators found cases where organ procurement preparations continued despite patients showing neurological signs inconsistent with donation. Officials said some patients MAY NOT HAVE BEEN DECEASED when the process was initiated.

One of the cases involved a man hospitalized after a drug overdose who showed signs of life during the organ donation process. He SURVIVED.

RFK Jr. called the organization a “bad apple” and said patient safety comes FIRST.
Organ donation depends on TRUST.

There should be ZERO question that a patient is gone before anyone starts talking about taking their organs.

Incredible progress has been made on wildfires in both Washington and Oregon. This is a view of nighttime firing Ops on the Kaiser Canyon Fire near Nespelem, WA. The fire is now 136,870 acres and 52% contained. Next door, the Sinlahekin Fire is 126,168 acres.

Down in Oregon, the larger complex fires all have significant containment, with the least contained fires in the PNW being those in wilderness areas. There are 436 crews, 1,033 engines, and 94 helicopters in the region, for a total of 18,637 fire personnel assigned to PNW fires.

Update: Deputy Involved Shooting - Detective Injury

Our detective who was injured during yesterday’s deputy involved shooting underwent successful surgery and is in stable condition. He continues to recover and is expected to be released from the hospital in the near future.

We are grateful to the members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for their quick response, assistance, and immediate medical care provided to our detective. We also want to thank the medical professionals and hospital staff at Antelope Valley Medical Center who continue to provide him with excellent medical care.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is handling the investigation into the deputy involved shooting and will provide additional updates as appropriate.

Today, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department celebrates the life of Sergeant Robert A. La Voie Jr.

Throughout his 26 years of dedicated service, Sergeant La Voie made a lasting impact on the department and the communities he served. He worked in numerous assignments, consistently demonstrating exceptional professionalism, leadership, and commitment to duty. His exemplary service earned him several commendations, including the Meritorious Conduct Medal, and he proudly achieved the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant La Voie is survived by his loving wife and son, along with many relatives, friends, and Department members who deeply cared for him. His strong leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

His legacy of service will continue to live on within the Department.

After the tragic news broke yesterday of the loss of Doral PD Officer Erwin Fernandez, we learned of the unimaginable news that we also lost another brave officer from our area earlier this week. Also sadly by suicide. It is with profound sadness that we also share the passing of Officer Nicholas “Nick” Nulty of the Seminole Tribe of Florida Police Department. Officer Nulty tragically passed away on Monday, August 3rd, 2026, after reportedly struggling with PTSD. Officer Nulty also previously served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the department for his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this devastating time and we thank Officer Nulty for his service. We hope he is now at peace. The epidemic of law enforcement suicide continues to plague this profession and we must do more to stop losing so many needlessly. It’s ok to not be ok, but please reach out and get help if you’re struggling. We must break the stigma and make the mental health of our first responders and military a priority. 🙏🖤💙🖤

FOX NEWS: Sen. Mitch McConnell is heading home after being discharged from rehab, but his return to the Senate doesn't appear imminent.

McConnell said in a statement: “On the advice of my doctors, I’ll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period, and I’ll continue to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business.”

It’s considered doubtful McConnell returns to the Senate before the fall.
