WATCH: Dashcam video captured a multi-vehicle crash on I-96 near Grand Boulevard in Detroit on Wednesday afternoon, MDN reports.

A car abruptly changed lanes and struck another vehicle, causing a chain-reaction crash involving several other vehicles. It is unclear why the driver changed lanes so suddenly. No major injuries were reported.

NEW: A homeowner in Port Orchard escaped injury after investigators say a man riding a golf cart used a torch to set the home's garage on fire on Tuesday in Kitsap County, causing an estimated $175,000 in damage.

According to the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, a 47-year-old man from Port Orchard is accused of setting fire to a home's garage while driving a golf cart.

Video footage captured the suspected arsonist driving up in a golf cart, with a dog in the passenger seat, and setting the garage on fire with a torch.

Within minutes, the garage was engulfed in flames, while a resident was inside the home and unaware of what was happening, according to information provided.

The homeowner was not injured and told investigators that he did not know who the suspect was or why the home was targeted.

On Aug. 4, at approximately 4:08 PM, Redmond Police responded to a robbery inside the Target at 17700 NE 76th Street, where a theft suspect threatened security with pepper spray.

Our Drone as First Responder (DFR) quickly arrived on the scene, providing live aerial footage to patrol units on the ground and directing them straight to the fleeing suspect. Because of this immediate eye in the sky, officers located and arrested the suspect within just 5 minutes of the initial 9-1-1 call.

The suspect, who had fled to the nearby Home Depot, surrendered upon police arrival and was detained without further incident. Nearly $500 in stolen property was recovered.

During a search of the suspect and his backpack, officers located the pepper spray used during the initial confrontation, an illegal spring-loaded knife, drug paraphernalia, and a container of suspected fentanyl.

Gann Fire updates: Conditions wind down, but flames destroyed 7 structures

Firefighting crews in Calaveras County are getting a better handle on a wildfire that destroyed homes, injured a firefighter and forced hundreds to evacuate.  Cal Fire said the Gann Fire started shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday near Hogan Dam and Gann roads near New Hogan Lake. When it first began, large columns of smoke and fast-moving flames threatened nearby residents, prompting evacuation orders.  Conditions appear much calmer.   KCRA 3's Melanie Wingo was along a hillside near New Hogan Lake on Wednesday, showing large, active flames. At that same location Thursday morning, her vantage point was pitch-black.

Blue State Hospital Bows To DOJ, Ends Trans Procedures For Kids

The Department of Justice has reached an agreement with Connecticut Children's Medical Center to end transgender procedures for minors and pay restitution for harmed detransitioners. This settlement marks the third hospital, following Texas Children's Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic, to cease such practices under President Trump's executive order banning federal support for gender-affirming care on children.

Troopers Adam Whited and Curtis Alward received the Michigan State Police (MSP) Bravery Award for their heroic actions during a critical incident. Trooper Whited is a canine handler, and Trooper Alward serves on the MSP Emergency Support Team.

On January 28, 2024, the troopers conducted a canine track involving an armed suspect who was wanted for a violent domestic assault. Prior to their arrival, the suspect fired his weapon toward a local deputy and conservation officer before fleeing from responding units.

After a half‑mile canine track, troopers located the suspect in an elevated deer blind and ordered him to exit. Instead of complying, the suspect pointed a weapon toward the troopers. The troopers discharged their weapons to stop the suspect.

Troopers Alward and Whited knowingly exposed themselves to extreme danger while actively pursuing and confronting an armed and violent suspect. Their courage and decisive actions prevented the loss of life, protected community members and fellow officers, and directly resolved a serious and violent criminal situation.
