LAPD News: Officer-involved shooting investigation in Olympic Div. PIO is enroute

Preliminary: LAPD officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call near Washington/Normandie a short time ago, for a male, reportedly armed with a baseball bat, swinging it at vehicles and pedestrians. Shortly after LAPD officers arrived on scene, an Officer-Involved shooting occurred. The suspect was shot and transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. Firefighters were seen performing CPR on the suspect prior to transporting.

⚠️🌊 FLASH FLOOD WARNING for parts of Kane County, Utah until 2 a.m.

The National Weather Service is warning of a life-threatening flash flood moving through Lick Wash and Buckskin Gulch after heavy rain upstream.

Forecasters say 1 to 1.5 inches of rain fell upstream, sending a VERY large flood wave south from U.S. 89 through Buckskin Gulch toward the Paria River.

🚨 If you're hiking, camping or recreating in the area:
• Leave slot canyons immediately.
• Move to higher ground.
• Never attempt to cross flooded roads or washes.
• Remember, flooding can occur even if it's not raining where you are.
The National Weather Service says this is a dangerous and life-threatening situation. The flood wave is expected to continue moving through the canyon system for several hours.

Police say protesters entered a privately owned building housing an ICE surveillance and analysis center in Williston, Vermont, and refused repeated requests to leave.

Several participants departed after speaking with authorities. Thirteen others remained and were arrested, with at least 12 facing unlawful trespass charges. Information concerning one juvenile was not released.

Political demonstrations are constitutionally protected. Entering private property and refusing lawful orders to leave can still carry legal consequences.

'Not a harmless joke': Las Vegas man gets 9 months in prison for pointing laser at Metro helicopter.

Sergio Octavio Sanchez aimed the beam of a green laser pointer at a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department helicopter several times on Jan. 2, 2025, according to court documents. The helicopter was providing air support for officers on the ground. When the laser struck the aircraft, the pilot had to shield his eyes and divert from its assignment and flight path.
