On July 25, 2026, at approximately 11:03 a.m., our officers arrested a convicted felon for possessing a loaded, unregistered 9mm handgun and fentanyl for sale.
Officers were diligently patrolling the area of Dupont St for issues related to illegal camping and motorhome parking. They made contact with the occupant of a motorhome and found the occupant in possession of narcotics for sale. As the officers continued in their investigation, they discovered the arrestee was also in possession of a loaded, unregistered 9mm handgun.
This proactive policing was supplemented by K9 Torque, who alerted to the presence of narcotics. A large amount of currency indicative of narcotics sales was located during this investigation.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Isaac Patterson (28y/o) was booked into Ventura County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and possession of fentanyl for sale.
We are committed to addressing quality of life issues in our community, intercepting narcotics before they are sold onto our streets, and taking illegally possessed firearms out of the hands of prohibited people before they are used to harm others.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: One person is dead and seven others are injured following a suspected shooting during an unsanctioned event in a field near Hale Avenue and Miramonte Avenue in unincorporated Morgan Hill on Saturday night, Santa Clara County CA Sheriffโs Office officials said.
"At about 10:16 p.m. on July 25, Santa Clara County Sheriffโs deputies responded to Hale Avenue near Miramonte Avenue after reports of intoxicated people in the street and a person throwing bottles at cars.
Deputies arrived to find a chaotic scene as more than 300 partygoers were hurrying to leave after several gunshots were fired. Multiple people had been shot and required immediate medical attention.
Deputies provided lifesaving aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. Several victims were taken to local hospitals, and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Morgan Hill Police Department, Gilroy Police Department, California Highway Patrol and San Jose Police Department responded to assist. Their coordinated efforts supported lifesaving measures, scene security, traffic control, investigative work, and overall public safety.
A relocation area was established for people arriving at the scene and attempting to find friends or family members who had attended the gathering.
Sheriffโs Office homicide detectives believe this was an isolated incident. Preliminary information indicates the weapon used was a handgun.
The gathering was an unsanctioned party promoted through social media. Detectives are actively following up on leads and working to identify the person or persons responsible.
This is expected to be a lengthy and complex homicide investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available."

A nice kudos from Centennial Animal Services ๐
"I was paged out to a call with Deputies Nguyen and Olson, and both of them did a great job helping me with loading two dogs. Deputy Nguyen arrived on scene before me, kept eyes on the dogs, and even tried to secure one before I arrived. He did his best to keep watch on the aggressive dog and asked me if there was any way he could safely contain it.
He and Olson were both eager to assist with the catchpole for the aggressive dog and showed patience and compassion for the second dog who was extremely fearful. Both Deputies were willing to learn how to use my equipment. Without their help, I am unsure how the call would have gone."
Thank you, Deputies Nguyen and Olson, for representing the Sheriffโs Office in such a positive manner. Keep up the great work!! ๐๐

The Trump administration has completed the transfer of firearm suppressors from the U.S. Munitions List to the Commerce Control List.
The change removes heavy export-licensing burdens that made American suppressors nearly impossible to sell overseas.
In most of the world these devices are treated as ordinary hearing protection.
U.S. manufacturers can now compete on a more level field. Congress already eliminated the $200 tax, but suppressors remain on the NFA. NSSF continues pushing the Hearing Protection Act for full removal.
