It is with profound sadness West Redding Fire Department, Connecticut, announces the loss of Cooper Whiteside. β€œCoop” was known to many and served over many years as Firefighter, EMT, Lieutenant, Training Captain and Vice President.

Cooper was more than a fellow first responder; he was a familiar face to many throughout our community. His dedication to serving others was evident throughout his time as a Captain with the West Redding Volunteer Fire Department, his service with the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company, and most recently as a police officer with the Bridgeport Police Department. His commitment to helping others and his passion for public service left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A life dedicated to serving and protecting others has been taken far too soon. His service, commitment, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of red and blood.πŸ™πŸ»

NEW: A Jones County deputy’s SUV was struck while deputies were responding to a crash on the U.S. 17 Bypass, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded July 12 to a single-vehicle crash on the U.S. 17 Bypass near the Pollocksville exit and arrived around 5:30 p.m.

While deputies were on scene with emergency lights activated, a passing vehicle struck the rear of a Jones County deputy’s SUV.

The sheriff’s office said the deputy inside the SUV was not seriously injured.

Officials said the people involved in the original crash were able to jump out of the way before the second collision and avoided further harm.

The occupants of the vehicle that struck the deputy’s SUV were taken to the hospital for evaluation. Their injuries were unknown at the time of the report.

BREAKING: Per multiple federal sources to FoxNews, ICE has been instructed to immediately cease most vehicle stops during immigration enforcement operations nationwide, except for operations targeting the most egregious criminal aliens. This comes after two people were killed by ICE in shootings in TX and ME in the last week in incidents that began as vehicle stops. DHS alleges one of those incidents was a ramming attempt.

I’m told this will be temporary until ICE officers receive new training on vehicle stops.

The policy change will have significant impacts as many of ICE’s arrests begin as vehicle stops when they find and follow a target, as we’ve witnessed on multiple embeds.

More to come as we get it.
